If thieves are determined to steal your car, they will, regardless of what security measures you have in place.However, what you can do is make your car a less appealing target than somebody else's - but you don't necessarily need to spend a small fortune in the process.I recently watched a television interview with a career car thief and he admitted that seeing a car with a steering lock would generally be enough for him to move onto another vehicle instead - not because he couldn't remove the steering lock, but simply because it was an extra bit of aggravation that he would rather do without.This is a robust steering lock that is easy to fit and should be suitable for most vehicles.I opted for the yellow colour, because the key point is to persuade the would-be thief to go for a softer target - and the yellow is an effective, highly visible colour that will stand out and perform its visual deterrent function.I hope you find these comments helpful.

I was surprised how light the steering wheel lock was. It is easy to put it on to the steering wheel and once off it reduces in size for easy storage. I ordered a black one to match the car interior but it is visible if someone looks inside the car. It is sturdy but could be cut with a grinder if someone has the right tools. Lost one star as the product was not discreet packaged and did not have any secure tape on either side of the box. I believe nothing was missing from the box though.

I like things that are well designed and fully thought through. This anti-theft lock appears both. While a true test can only be thwarting a determined thief it appears robust, well designed and extremely well packaged.The robustness of the design is self evident when picking up the device straight from the packaging and the ease of fitting it on the car steering wheel is simplified with not requiring a key to lock it in position. I appreciate some of the other comments about ensuring you have the key to enable unlocking but it does come with three keys so there are enough to attach to both main and spare car keys with a extra one for peace of mind. Personally I do not agree with some comments that the keys seem thin as they appear perfectly acceptable to me.In terms of being well thought out the inclusion of felt self adhesive pads (and spares) to protect the steering wheel, plus the addition of a velcro strap to keep the lock closed when not fitted, is a nice touch. The cherry on the cake is a plastic cover for the pointed, spiked end hammer with a spare should you end up having to use it. Make sure you spot the spare at the bottom of the styrofoam packaging!Great product, well thought out and supplied with spares. Hopefully the visual deterrent is enough - I went for the yellow - and I do not have to revisit this review with an update!

The number of car break-ins in my area has been steadily increasing in recent years.With my car parked on the drive it is difficult to defend against.I decided to get a steering lock as an extra way of deterring opportunist criminals who might see my less protected neighbour’s cars as easier pickings.Steering locks have changed a lot since I bought one for my first Mini-Metro in the 1990s.Car steering wheels have got thicker with all the unnecessary tech-buttons so my old steering lock won’t fit. My old steering lock was metal and wore away at the steering wheel – the main reason I stopped using it. My old steering lock also had flakes of yellow paint dropping off it into my car interior due to repetitive use over time.My new model steering lock would need to be able to handle bigger steering wheels, not damage the steering wheel and not shed little flakes of yellow paint!. It also needs to be bright yellow to be seen.The locking process does not require a key.You place this device on the steering wheel hooked to one part of the inner circumference of the wheel and drag it open to the other side of the inner wheel.You then cannot drag it closed again without using the key.This saves time and is easy to do. It is also a bit risky if you don’t have your key with you when you apply it. With my old steering lock you had to have the key to lock it on.It comes with three keys.They are advertised as virtually unique.The thing that slightly troubles me about them is they are thin wedge-shaped keys.The key could get bent and then you are stuck unable to unlock it until you get your hands on the spare. Again if you had to use the key to lock it in place, this would reduce risk of being stuck outside the local pet grooming salon unable to unlock your steering lock.Many car steering wheels stick up in the centre. Presumably air-bags and tech.This means steering locks that go directly across the centre of the steering wheel don’t fit or will sound the car horn each time you add or remove it. This model allows applying the steering lock just above the centre section of the wheel to avoid this problem.The connectors to the wheel are silver metal but come with rubber bits you stick over them to protect your steering wheel from damage. Not sure why they do not come attached but it is only a one off job to stick them on.The steering lock is relatively small and lightweight with only one metal bar.I supposed a determined well-kitted out scumbag could cut through it.No steering lock will prevent all attacks. Other steering locks have two bars but you are usually then looking at a model that goes over the centre of the steering wheel.Most of it is yellow making it visible.It all seems OK to me. Just check your key before applying it. A steering lock won’t prevent a car ransacking but it sends a message of a more security conscious owner who is less likely to have left a smart phone in the glove compartment and a Picasso is the boot. It continues to astonish me how people leave so much stuff in their car on display for opportunist smash and grab.

All work as expected. Expectations were high based on the reviews. Very sturdy. It cannot be easier to install and remove. Does the job very well.

I absolutely love ❤️ this steering wheel lock!! It’s very easy to use, and is highly visible when in use. Although I park my vehicle in my garage most of the time, I use my wheel 🛞 lock when I’m out and about (market, gym, etc.).I highly recommend it.Anne

Bon outil de dissuasion. Je viens d'acheter une Citroën C4 Hybride. Mon véhicule est équipé d'une carte d'accès main libre et démarre sans clé, il faut donc se protéger des voleurs un peu plus. Ce dispositif est plutôt visible de l'extérieur et me semble dissuasif. il est facile à poser, facile à ranger grâce à un velcro qui permet de le garder plié. La serrure est originale et livrée avec 3 clés. L'ensemble est bien lourd et bien robuste et résistera à une scie suffisamment pour décourager les vols à la tire. Pour le moment il protège la voiture et j'espère que cela suffira. Mais je suis confiant et ravi de mon achat.
