Spear & Jackson Lawn Edging Tool Gardening Edges Cutter

Lasted no more than about 10 feet of edging before it bent. Also bolt holding the handle on had come out in transit. I thought buying a brand name I recognised meant I'd get a quality item. Not so. Returned for a refund and ordered one for a third of the price. Top marks to Amazon customer service for returns process.

It was to lightweight

Spade came off the handle first time using it, not attached very well.

As others say: It bends easily. Quite flimsy really, and broke on second use: poorly glued together at CRITICAL stress point - so very poorly designed and at the glued point (see attached photo) the flimsy shaft burst open. Looked nice initially, but inspire of 15year guarantee statement and seemingly good supplier: lasted a very short time. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Nice lightweight product, but don’t be tempted to buy this, opt in for a more expensive type, I broke the weld on the lower pole, (poor spot welding) , so I modified it myself as I’m an engineer…

Second trip out. Managed about 5 meters of edging and the end snapped off. First trip it managed about 15, so provided you only need to edge 20m and happy to pay just over a pound a meter for the privilege, go for it. But to me, it's garbage and I'm hugely disappointed in S&J. They used to make quality tools.

Assolutamente furibonda: non posso credere che questo strumento per tagliare i bordi del prato sia stato prodotto da Spear & Jackson, un noto e rispettato marchio britannico e produttori di utensili da giardino dal 1760: ho lavorato con questi strumenti sin da bambina e ora da pensionata faccio volontaria giardiniera in un bellissimo giardino nel nord Italia. Ho deciso che era giunto il momento di acquistare una taglia bordi per affrontare le centinaia di metri di prati che abbiamo qui. Lo strumento è arrivato, avvolto nella plastica, inserito inutilmente in un'enorme scatola di cartone (Amazon dovete pensare di più all'ambiente). Sono stata sorpresa di scoprire che la 'lama' non era afatto tagliente ma invece arrotondato e anche questa inutilmente avvolta nella plastica. Questa 'lama' a mezza luna è rifinita con un "rivestimento epossidico" come l'asta tubolare metallica e si chiama "Neverbend". Il punto centrale di queste 'lame' a mezza luna è che dovrebbero tagliare il bordo del prato, ad es. l'erba compressata, lasciando una finitura perfetta per il prato: dev'essere in grado di tagliare il bordo del prato per centinaia di metri con quasi nessuno sforzo, perché la lama DEVE ESSERE TAGLIENTE. Per quanto riguarda il nome dello strumento "Neverbend Carbon Edging Knife", è un termine improprio perché si è piegato quasi immediatamente per via della pressione necessaria per 'tagliare' l'erba e abbiamo dovuto raddrizzarlo in modo da poter continuare: sarebbe stato più veloce usando un coltello da cucina per rifinire questi bordi. Quindi non potrei assolutamente consigliare l'acquisto di questo prodotto di Spear & Jackson.

Moin war auf dem ersten Eindruck sehr begeistert.Hat sich aber nach dem ersten Arbeitseinsatz schon ein wenig verbogen .Aber es verrichtet seine Arbeit trotzdem weiterhin.Mfg Tarzan

Leider ist dieser Rasenkantenstecher so nicht zu gebrauchen. Das Material ist zu dick und somit schwer ihn in die Erde zu stechen. Erst nach dem Schleifen war er funktionstüchtig!
