This product is amazing and I give it a top rating! I purchased it after reading reviews about speakers with the Alexa function. Not only does this product look very sleek, but the sound quality is perfect and the product itself is affordable and very easy to use. The function of Alexa makes daily tasks of life much easier, such as shopping. I can just speak to the speaker and it creates a shopping list for me! It’s perfect and I would definately recommend this to anyone who loves great sounding music and is looking for an affordable portable device. I am looking forward to using this product in the summer in the park.

So far not so good, I have an excellent and strong Wi-Fi network but your speaker keeps dropping the signal and I have to keep reloading it from my IPad App and that is not a good situation. When it is working it is very good with a strong sound, as for Bluetooth I have not been able to connect to my Alexa Echo Show yet, only with the Wi-Fi but as I said when Iswitch it off I have to go through the whole loading procedure again.Also the batterie does not last as long as the instructions says it should.Can I use the speaker while the battery is charging and connected to the mains via the charging cable ?

Don't buy for the full gamut of features as found on the Echo or an official Amazon Alexa device - saying "Alexa, listen to LBC" produces a deafening ... silence.

Amazing battery life and near instant connection whether its bluetooth or over WiFi. Alexa function extremely useful and accurate. Not had any disconnecting issues as stated in another review. Using it as a cheaper, better quality version of the Sonos.

Neat little speaker, it does everything I need it to do. I like it's small footprint, great for small cluttered spaces.

What I like about this speaker is it's looks and Alexia capabilities, unfortunately, this is where the attraction ends. As a speaker, it's mediocre at best, for the price you're better off paying for an Echo! The sound quality is better and you'll get full Alexia compatibility. The only advantage of this is portability, It's built in battery life seems to be acceptable but it does switch itself off after 30 mins of inactivity, sadly this was still the case when plugged into the mains. It's annoying to have to keep turning it on, which means it has to look for and reconnect to the WiFi every time you want to ask Alexa a question! The connection process takes about 40 seconds, in which time I could have walked downstairs and asked the Dot! Above all, this is labelled as a speaker and it's just not up to the job, there is just no real bass tones. I like turning on my other wireless speaker and seeing peoples reaction to just how good it sounds, you will have no such reaction from this one for more than double the price! It's such a shame as it promised so much but just didn't deliver.

It worked fine for a month or so, then the connection to the wireless network stopped and cannot be restored. Expensive for a dumb bluetooth speaker and does not work as well in this mode as small, inexpensive speakers.

En primer lugar, dejo un vídeo añadido con el unboxing, aunque la calidad de compresión de Amazon es... ejem!En resumen, en la caja viene:- Altavoz August Venus- Cable usb de carga- Cable 3,5mm- Manual de instrucciones (en todos los idiomas, español incluido)Ahora paso a explicar mi experiencia completa con el altavoz, a ver si puedo ayudar a alguien:Nada más sacarlo de la caja lo que notas es que es bastante pesado (no demasiado, pero sí lo suficiente como para dar sensación de calidad). Pesa 480 gramos. El cuerpo es de un plástico de buena calidad, y alrededor de los altavoces de dentro hay una tela que da una muy buena sensación.Por arriba tiene unos botones táctiles, que para mi gusto, deberían ser un poquito más precisos. Al principio no sabía muy bien cómo poner el dedo para pulsarlos., aunque una vez que aprendí a hacerlo bien no tuve mayor problema.Los 2 altavoces emiten hacia las 4 direcciones, y tienen una potencia conjunta de 15w. El sonido me sorprendió bastante. Para comparar, tengo un altavoz parecido de Xiaomi (de los modelos más caros) y éste se escucha BASTANTE mejor. La diferencia es notable, sobre todo en los graves. Suena muy bien. Te llena una habitación grande sin problema. Yo lo estuve probando en todo tipo de situaciones, y el sonido me llenaba todo el salón, que no es precisamente pequeño. Quiero dejar bien claro este punto, ya que me parece el más importante: el altavoz se escucha muy bien.Dispone de tecnología Bluetooth y Wifi (admite el protocolo Airplay de Apple):* Supongo que del bluetooth no hace falta comentar mucho. Se empareja y funciona como cualquier otro aparato.* Donde me quiero detener más es en el tema del wifi, ya que es una de las claves de este altavoz. Hay varios puntos importantes: - Tiene una aplicación propia en la App Store y Google Play para la conexión. También dispone de un botón WPS para sincronizar con el router y el teléfono. - Una vez conectado al wifi, cada vez que lo enciendes (en mi caso, al menos) tarda unos 30 segundos en conectarse al router. No está nada mal. Ninguna de las veces me dio problemas de conexión, y la cobertura de la antena wifi me parece buena. - Un punto vital para mí es QUE ADMITE AIRPLAY. Me gusta muchísimo más que el bluetooth. Esto hace que, por ejemplo, pueda estar enviando música de Spotify desde mi iPhone al altavoz, y pueda irme al Mac, abrir allí el Spotify y controlar la reproducción desde allí. Parece una tontería, pero con el bluetooth tienes que andar emparejando con cada dispositivo. Airplay es una tecnología por la que merece la pena pagar un poquito más (si tienes un dispositivo Apple, obviamente), ya que es mucho más cómoda. Aunque también consume un poquito más de batería, en teoría con wifi dura 7h y con bluetooth unas 8 ó 9. Creo que también tiene DLNA, pero eso no llegué a probarlo. - Otro de los APARTADOS CLAVE del altavoz es que si está conectado al wifi puede acceder a internet utilizando a ALEXA, el asistente virtual de Amazon (ojo, solo en idioma alemán e inglés). En mi caso no tengo problema con el inglés. Pulsando el botón del medio puedes decirle cosas como: a) "Play Maroon 5 songs". Y comenzará a sonar instantaneamente un popurrí de ese grupo utilizando el servicio AMAZON MUSIC. Si eres Amazon Prime puedes utilizarlo, lo tienes incluido. ¡OJO! Un punto negativo es que no puedes decirle a Alexa que reproduzca de Spotify. Contacté con atención al cliente y muy amablemente me dijeron que ese servicio Amazon solo lo tiene disponible para algunos de sus dispositivos. Una pena, pero si te sirve Amazon Music te viene perfecto, ya que funciona muy bien (por supuesto Spotify se puede utilizar enviando el audio mediante Bluetooth o Ariplay sin problema).También puedes pedirle a Alexa que reproduzca una lista de reggaeton, dance, etc... En ese sentido FUNCIONA MUY BIEN, y entiende bien lo que le dices. Es cómodo no tener que vincular ningún dispositivo y simplemente pedirle música al altavoz :) b) "What's the weather like today?" Y comenzará a decírtelo. Hay una página de Amazon donde se puede configurar Alexa poniendo tu cuenta, ahí puedes poner tus datos, dónde vives, etc... c) "Tell me the news". Lo mismo, comenzará a contarte las noticias de la BBC y cosas así (como el resto de las cosas, en inglés). d) Cosas varias, como por ejemplo pedirle que te cuente un chiste, que te diga cómo se llama, pedirle que busque X en la Wikipedia (y te empieza a decir toda la ficha de ésta), que te diga cuántos euros son X dólares, preguntarle quién es el cantante de X grupo... todo lo que se te pueda ocurrir. Lo típico que hacen la mayoría de los asistentes virtuales, y tengo que decir que en este caso ALEXA ME GUSTA MUCHO.A MODO DE RESUMEN:Podría decir que los puntos más flojetes del altavoz son que Alexa es en inglés, que no puede reproducir Spotify de internet, y que creo que si se le acaba la batería no puedes seguir utilizándolo con jack... Nada más.Sin embargo, como puntos a favor tiene su EXCELENTE sonido. En serio, este altavoz suena que da gusto. Para que un altavoz tan pequeño te pueda llenar un salón grande sin problema ya tiene que sonar bien. Podría parecer que 15w son pocos pero no es así.Otro punto a favor es la GENIAL ALEXA. La verdad es que siendo en inglés no me esperaba que fuera a utilizarla mucho, pero lo de que te reproduzca música al momento es un puntazo.También la duración de la batería es buena.Su estética me gusta mucho.Su conectividad es muy buena.En definitiva, es un altavoz que recomiendo mucho. Pese a no ser una marca muy conocida, yo me atreví a comprarlo por mi experiencia con ellos. Tengo unos auriculares August que son muy famosos por costar muy poquito y sonar muy bien. En este caso el precio es algo más elevado debido a toda la tecnología que lleva, pero creo que lo vale de sobra.Espero que te ayude mi opinión ٩(◕‿◕)۶GRACIAS.
