I applied this to a 3-day old minor surface burn on my finger that I got from steam (I should have been more careful taking a bowl from the microwave!). It was still tender to the touch, and hurt when I ran warm water over it. A few minutes after applying a small amount of this ointment, the tenderness went away. It also softened my skin really nicely! There is almost no scent to this at all. It says there is menthol in it, but I did not get even the smallest hint of that distinctive minty pain cream smell. The cream rubbed in and absorbed as expected--a little went a very long way, actually. No slippery greasy feeling afterwards. The tube has a child-proof safety cap on it. This is the first time I have encountered such a thing on a tube, and honestly, it is a real pain in the butt. You need to press down to get the cap to release, like a standard safety cap, but this is a small flexible tube and pressing down enough to allow it to open is difficult. If you are trying to get this open for relief, struggling with the lid is not going to make you feel any better. I completely understand the need for such preventative measures, but this one is a bit too hard even for adults to manage.

Do not waste you're money on this This does nothing to televise any pain at all.Big hype just to get u to buy.The Ben gay with lidocaine is much better. I should have bought the Ben gay,but this sounded good.But it is crappy.
