My wife and I have two other new phones, including an iPhone 14. The TCL ION is our back-up phone used primarily for texting, light surfing, and Bluetooth audio during long walks. For minimal cost and use with cheap Tello service, this phone has been a champ for the past month. I play Spotify, and even with budget portable headphones (Sound Blaster Jam), the Bluetooth 5.0 audio quality is superb. I also appreciate the smaller overall dimensions and replaceable battery. My only criticism is that the back side of the phone can be hard to remove to install the SIM; expect significant cursing along the way! Beyond that, excellent value as a new Android 13 device for those with a tight budget and reasonable expectations.UPDATE AFTER 6 MONTHS OF ALMOST DAILY USE: solid performance, no problems, no regrets. I especially like the slightly smaller (6") screen and the audio quality streaming Spotify Premium via Bluetooth.

I bought this phone to replace my Samsung Note 10.Pros:I installed the same number of apps I had before and the software performs really good, graphics, video, app etc.The battery lasts the whole day (for me) and charges to 80% in about 40 min. Also the low price almost disqualifies any complaints. So far no reception problems, I use (T-Mobile)Cons:overall volume is a little low. Not water proof. The camera takes decent pictures in my opinion, no many editing features though.I have not tested any of the biometrics like finger print or facial recognition.

It's not an iPhone - which is just fine with me. It's a basic Android phone, but TRULY it's one of the better ones - at a great price. Apps all run snappy - not much bloatware upon arrival, nice bright display, 50mp camera takes great pics, and a very pleasant surprise - a built in app carried ALL my data and programs from my ancient Samsung phone without a cable.I noticed some reviews saying that the speakerphone was quiet. I guess if you're working in a noisy warehouse... but for me, the volume is great.This is the first time I've taken a chance and bought a phone that wasn't a Samsung or a Motorola. I am very pleasantly surprised, and I think you will be too. Go for it!Nice job, TCL. You have a new fan.

Bare bones basic. No audio recorder. No camera timer count down feature to get a good selfie, have to hold phone only. (Aggravating). Utterly primitive compared to all my previous LG phones in terms of features and user friendly setup. Everything is based around Google apps and features of phone are all Google. Google has proven to be intrusive with your data and privacy, luckily alot of Google features can be disabled, but not all. Features are frustrating and or ultra basic. The only reason I bought it was because of its small size as I can't stand having a 7-8 inch long 2 pound weight in my pocket. But the phone is trash compared to LG, which is no longer made. Sometimes it will shut itself off, alot of weird glitches. The worst cell phone I've ever had since they were invented.

ProBanking apps - noticeably improved user experience with Android 132-step authentication by text has a great feature new to me:When you go to message app to retrieve the code, it offers a "copy feature" automatically. Click on it then go back to the banking app and presto, the code has been entered!!Nano SIM card recognized the carrier info quickly (T-mobile)Transfer of information from old ZTE Android 10 phone went well!(Luckily, I had a C to C cable for the data transfer).Cons: notification dot doesn't work wellThe charger plugged into a wall outlet did heat up a little more than my previous cell phone as well as the back of the phone in it's new case (Ailiber brand) while laying flat on a solid surface. I used the new case to elevate it which took care of the phone backside heating up.Conclusion:Initial use and features provided a great experience for a phone in this price range!

poor battery life

The cellphone is very basic. Easy to use, It's a generic smartphone. There's no back cover. The price was and the sale. I was just used to my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. It was stolen and was told 4 to 6 weeks for replacement. I'm going to keep it and will use it as a back up.

I recently purchased this smartphone, and I have to say it's a great device for the price. As someone who doesn't need all the fancy bells and whistles, this phone offers everything I need at a good value. The performance is smooth, the camera takes decent photos, and the battery life is impressive. I appreciate that I didn't have to break the bank for a reliable smartphone.
