7/8 Inch SDS MAX Ground Rod Driver Bit for use with Rotary Hammer Drill (7/8" Ground Rod Driver)

Works great

I use this with my Hercules demo hammer to drive in concrete stakes and I'm not sure how Iived without it before. This saves time and energy. It will drive an 18 or 24 inch stake straight and plumb in a few seconds. The only little weird thing to know is that it is a very tight fit for a 3/4" stake and if you have any mushrooming on the heads, those need to be ground down or else it will stick to high heaven, which was not so great. That said, if you use this with new stakes or ones that are ground, you won't get that mushroom head again. I think if they made a 1" one that might work better. But otherwise this this is awesome.

Worked great driving two 10 foot rods in the ground.

I bought this to pound 5/8" rebar rods into the ground and it does it very well. My wife had seen me fight pounding the rods 8 foot lengths of rod into the ground on an 8 foot ladder with a sledge hammer. So I bought this, but the generator in a wagon behind the tractor, fired up the generator, put this driver into my Bosch Demo Hammer and it sunk it into the ground incredibly quickly.Well worth the cost.

This ground rod driving rod bit works fairly well and has some nice thick metal so I'm sure it'll live up to some abuse. My only problem with it after using other ground rod driving bits is that the end that actually does the hammering inside the tube piece is tapered to a point. This seems to deform the top of the ground rod and cause more mushrooming than other similar bits I've used. It does get the job done, has a nice fit in the SDS Max tool, and looks robust though so I still think it's a solid 4 stars.
