Great looking film adaptation.
This looks fantastic. It's one of the rare graphic novels where the artwork is as good as the artwork on the cover! The story follows the film closely, however, there are a number of differences to keep the reader hooked. If you're a star wars fan you'll enjoy a few of the hidden extras which didn't make it into the film.

Enjoyed it more than I thought it would.
Really really enjoyed it. I would recommend it. Very well written.

Great read for a young star wars fan
The violence is tuned right down. The language is good, but not as nice as the UK English Star Wars junior novels. Probably too easy for a 10 year old, but great to move from the early readers to real books.

My 7 year old loves this book.
My son loves this book. He looks at it in bed every night and as he knows the film of by heart it is helping his reading as he knows what each character is saying. If your child loves episode 3 then they will love this comic style book.

dont get this ...
... wait for the Matthew Stover novel to come out in paperback. This is ok, but it's more for young kids really, and doesnt go into as much detail as you would expect from a Star wars novel. It's more like a summary of the film, with no extra.

The end is the beginning- the myth comes full cycle
_I read the Dark Horse graphic novel adaptation before I saw both The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. In both cases the adaptation was perfect- it was like seeing the story boards for the films. I am glad to say that in my opinion this third effort lives up to the first two. You can see the film in your mind. Not only that, but you can take time to really absorb all the intricate details from panel to panel._I admit that I was a little nervous about how Lucas would wrap up the prequels. I didn't need to be, for this caps them off with the mythic power of the original films. I couldn't imagine a more powerful or fitting close. I sure that Joseph Campbell would have approved, also. We are shown the true nature of Evil, as well as, the true meaning of Good. There is no ambiguity here._Personally, my favorite bit was the nod to shamanism and its role in preserving the Jedi tradition.....

Good Alternative for kids to the PG-13 Movie
My son was 9 when I bought this for him and had seen all the other Star Wars Movies. I wouldn't let him watch this particular movie because it is rated PG-13. I bought this book for him instead. He has read it all the way through two or three times now and was very happy to know "the rest of the story" that he'd been missing out on. I would recommend this book to parents who have kids who are Star Wars fans but who are too young to watch this particular movie.
