Runs a bit small

Based on the size chart I selected this sweatshirt in a medium which turned out to be too small. However, it was a good quality and nice looking so I gave it to another child (age 7) and ordered a new one to replace it in extra large (age 12). Advice would be to order a size up since tight sweatshirts don't look too cool.
