It is a good amount of soft gel to be placed on a face down pillow of some variety for example on the top of a massage table face rest to make it comfier,Only thing is need to put a cover over it if you don’t like the sort of sticky rubberish feel against the skin on your face, I think I will likely just use an old pillow case and cut a hole in the middle, that or sew something for it.If only planning to use it for just short term like a massage than no cover really necessary—the texture is tolerable for short amount of tome,but I am using mine to make the plastic face down pillow I bought comfier to sleep on all through the night.

Okay, I've waited to post a review until I've tried this pillow a few times. I take it with me to all my massages like a princess! LOL Seriously, if you get wrinkled skin from the sheet cover on your massage headrest, buy this item. I simply place it on the headrest, rest my face in it and when I turn over, I lift it and place it on my stomach for the rest of the massage. It's awesome! It's like a cool pack for my face in the beginning and by the time I turn over, a heat pad for my tummy. You'll love it!

The pillow works well for those that want something relatively flat, you will need to put a towel or small pillow case over it.
