Colourful, creative and nutritious salads
Beautiful book with fabulous ideas for dressings and toppings as well as salads. So pleased with my first creation and plan another tomorrow. Such beauty and so few calories. Thanks too to Hamish at ' the Secret Herb Garden ' Edinburgh for the edible flowers.I am updating my review having had this book for over a month now. 100% disagree with the 'style over substance' comments below. This book provides access to knock out flavours and easy salads using everyday ingredients which take little or no time to prepare. So far I have made raw cashew mayo, gremolata dressing, nut and seed brittle, pickled spiced grapes, beetrrit powder and herb powder plus four flavour packed salads. Two friends have bought the book on my recommendation. For the Summer, this is currently outstripping Anna Jones, ' A modern way to eat' for its simplicity and equally flavoursome dishes. Buy it and use it and then comment on the flavour combis- superb!

It's ok
I like it in some ways, like the photograph and some interesting combinations, but overall its similar and boring half of the time. I paid offer price, so it's cheap and I am ok with this, but IF I paid full price I would be really dissatisfied.

Absolutely best salad book ever!
Wow. This is truly a sensational book. First of all the photos are stunning. The author knows how to take a great photo and also is an artist when it comes to presenting food. What I loved is all the recipes for dressings found in a big chapter at the back. Means it's easy to find something to make when you don't know what to cook. I think I may use this part of the book more so than the actual salads. I don't know yet as I've not made anything.I love the detail amber goes into about salad making - there's so much advice she gives - I call her the 'salad-ologist' as she's an expert! This is a truly amazing book and if you want to eat healthier this is the book for you

This book doesnt lend itself to a kindle format at all. I have several cookbooks on kindle but this one has very pale grey writing which you need to zoom in in order to read, then you dont have the full recipe on the page. Dont buy on kindle is my recommendation.

Beautiful photos
I still have to try the recipes but the photos are beautiful and I am having fun simply paging through the book. Incidentally the author is photographer Amber Locke - I don't know why Howard Hughes is listed as the author.
