Hi, I needed to replace a previous splitter which wasn't working so well. After searching through Amazon & E Bay it appeared that almost all the other splitters displayed were basically the same product but with different labelling, they all also appeared like the one I was exchanging which only lasted a few months.Although they almost all appeared to be the same product the cost of each one varied greatly from only a couple of pounds to over £20/30. Having read the sales information on many of them and despite the cost variations it wasn't clear if the were all identical or if some of them had better components inside, perhaps they did but if so, unless you are an expert it would be hard to discern amongst them all which were the better ones!Although I didn't want to have to spend over £20 (or even near that) for a replacement splitter my research and the many reviews I read encouraged me into believing the Goronya would be the best option to solve my problem. Additionally, this well made and sturdy product would future proof my need for another HDMI splitter when I upgrade my TV to 4K etc. The other major selling point for me was the Remote Control, as almost all the other splitters available, even those that didn't appear to be the exact same splitters but with different labelling, seemed to use the exact same remotes and as I had not had a great deal of success with those remotes in the past, I wanted a more robust one with my new purchase and the Goronya Remote appeared to fit the bill nicely!The item was delivered promptly, which as a prime member was expected, it was well inside the delivery box the item was packaged and presented nicely and all the components were included in the neat and well thought out packaging. The splitter itself was a nicely designed and well made item and as mentioned by other reviewers was made of metal and not the usual cheap looking plastic with ill-fitting lights and sockets as many others appeared to have been made from. My HDMI leads connected snugly into the sockets, as did the supplied mains charger and everything worked perfectly first go. The item sits flat on my TV stand and looks fine in amongst all my other Audio Visual items. The Remote Controller is indeed a robust, well made and solid piece of equipment and the battery compartment is nicely finished and slides in and out smoothly, the buttons are rubber and well fitting and the remote works smoothly and flawlessly. One thing worth mentioning is that it seems that all these HDMI switchers, regardless of make, do take a few seconds to change ports and you need to allow them the time to do so!If there is a downside to this item it might be the problem others have mentioned regarding switching itself to another unwanted port while you are in the middle of watching the TV or a Movie. This is annoying of course as others have said but I do believe it is a problem with many HDMI switchers that can apparently be solved, I just need to find the article I saw mentioning the solution to the problem, which I believe is mainly due to having a multiport switcher with one or more ports not in use.The only thing I think that detracts from this products in the box supplied items is, an HDMI Cable. For this reason I have deducted a half star, the other half star is for the unwanted channel changing.All in all on first impressions (I have only had it a day or so) are that this is a quality made item that works well and is true to its advertising. It is certainly a long way above, in terms of quality than the majority of other splitters advertised and that I have had and used previously. Hopefully, it will continue to please me and I will solve the situation regarding unwanted channel changes. If required I will add further comments regarding this item at a later date.Please note that this is an unsolicited review and I have purchased this item at the full advertised price!

Bought the 5 port hub to connect a range of devices to an older LCD TV, and divert the sound to a sound bar. Though there are some niggles, largely this is a really good device if you need switching.+ Switches effectively. There is a momentary delay when switching device.+ Worked perfectly with Fire TV stick. But you need to extend it away as too bulky to go direct.+ Audio out works perfectly. This has been a great feature - can't believe more hubs don't offer it.- Bright lights on front of device.- Remote not that great. The further from the device, the less effective it got. Not much angle either. Might be better if you use a universal remote (but did not try this).- When you switch off the TV, the device switches off. This is good. But when you switch the TV on, you have power on the device separately.- Also, when you switch the device back on. It doesn't memorise the audio out that you want/last used so you have to manually select SPDIF again to get sound through the sound bar.

Its not bad,So all iv really tested is 1080 devices as that's all I currently has and it switches as it specifies that it should.In other words you can switch it using the button on the front or the remote.The only real complaint it is the TV turns off so does the switch and that is annoying,when you turn the TV on you have to wait about 30 seconds to a minute for the device to register that there the TV is on for it to finally show channel 1 on the TV, also when it shows channel 1 it doesn't actually turn itself on, you still have to turn the device on to be able to switch channels.If waiting 30 seconds or so on 1st boot wont bother you like it doesn't bother me personally just the wife then I would recommend this.

I have a 1080p projector and a sound bar and I was looking for a way to connect my gaming consoles and raspberry to the projector but have the sound play through optical out. I bought this switch since it's supposed to do exactly that and it arrived shortly after. After connecting everything the PS4 worked without problem, the Nintendo s was working but only on 480p, and the PS3 and WiiU was only working on 720p(at first there was no signal from the PS3, had to disable deep color from the PS3 using another monitor). I was going to return the switch but as an engineer I want to try every option before giving up. So I played around with the projector and scaled the resolution manually. And boom everything was working. Even the sound. The next day everything stopped working. So I'm going to return the product and maybe invest in an AV receiver with optical out (don't want to install 5.1 speakers at home since we've got kids) or buy a budget sound bar with 4-5 HDMI inputs.

Initially I was impressed with this device, as unlike may switches, it has an optical out (necessary for a Sonos Playbar). However, it stopped passing the HDMI feed from my Sky HD box and there is very little on the internet about this particular device to help solve the problem. I'm going to keep it for the time being in case I need it in the future, but all in all this didn't really do what I needed it to do.

A nicely put together box, remote was responsive to a good range.HDMI ports all worked fine, only tested with 1080p, no 4k inputs.Sound passed through to surround sound system without a problem.PS4 auto switch functioned as intended.My only problem was that the buttons on the remote also switched the channels on my Openbox v8s TV box so I no longer use it.
