10 Minutes of Smoke
Got about 10 minutes of smoke. You almost need 20 to get any smoke flavor into the food your grilling. Won't be buying again.

Amazing smoke flavor!
Put the pod on the grill and by the time the grill was ready, the smoke was going strong. Will definitely buy this again.

Super easy to use
Great option to add smoke chips to any BBQ, easy cleanup too, a single pod can give you about 20 to 30 minutes of smoke if placed near the charcoal or fire source.

Pricy for what it is, limited smoke, minimal impact
I want like these "The Smokist Single Use Smoking Pods Makes Grilling with Smoke Easy, Use on any Grill, No Additional Equipment Needed, Starts Smoking in Under 5 Minutes" but for what it is and what it does, I couldn't. Single use, I can't even "refill" these pods. I feel that it is a bit pricy for what it is. It also only produce a very limited amount of smoke, so it minimally impact your food. It works for things like maybe some quick cooking items like vegetables or seafood. But it certainly won't work for anything that you intended to cook "low and slow"; nothing get onto briskets or tri-tip alike. These pods will only generate minutes of smoke, maybe 10? 15? definitely less than 30min of smoke. Personally, I think "smoking" takes time, one of their tagline is "No need for expensive smokers or spending hours to infuse the flavor", but I think in turn, my food really didn't pick up too much "smoky goodness".Each box come with 6 pods (for $18), 2 of each kind, end up around $3 per pod. The smoke flavors are not bad, but also, not too "exotic" or "special". I guess, if you want some novelty, and just minimally adding "some" smokiness to your quick cook food, and you don't care about spending the money, then, go for these. I wouldn't otherwise.Thank you for reading this review, I hoped that this review is helpful to you in support of your purchase decision.

Good idea, not impressive results
Really liked the idea of a very simple way to get smoke flavoring on anything in the BBQ...without actually using the smoker. These work...kinda sorta. It's not a ton of smoke, and honestly, if you get some wood smoking chips and put them in foil and throw them in the BBQ, you'll get the same result for much, much cheaper. Yes, these are handy and easy to use - but they don't give a ton of smoke, whereas if you use multiple of them to get more smoke, they get pretty expensive. If you're looking for a very light smoke a burger, their convenience may be worth it...

Don't bother
You just can't "smoke" meat in the short time it takes to grill it. You can't even impart a superficial hint of smokiness with these pods. They contain such a small quantity of chips, they are consumed within a few short minutes. I ended up using two, one after the other, because I grilled these chicken breasts slowly so they'd have some chance of gainng some smoke flavor. Neither I nor a friend with a better palate than I could detect anything at all.I can't say that if one used an actual smoker box in your grill that holds a reasonable quantity of chips, and did it slowly, you wouldn't get some flavor imparted, but these are ineffective.

Convenient, if spendy, smoke pods for a propane grill
Single Use Smoking Pods: $18.43 for a 6-pack at the time of reviewThe older I get the more valuable my time becomes. When I was younger, I was willing to do a lot of things on my own in order to save a little money. However, as my time grows shorter (well, I'm not *that* old yet, but I'm on my way), I'd become more willing to sacrifice that money in exchange for a little more time doing the things that I like. These smoke pods by The Smokist are an excellent example of the above referenced trade-off. Could I use a smoke box and wood chips? Sure. But there's a little bit more hassle involved in that process. Not a ton, but enough. So when I saw prepackaged smoke pods I figured they'd be worth a shot at saving myself a little time at the grill.Without getting too wordy in this review, I am happy to report that these pods do exactly what they purport to. Simply select the kind of wood you like (the pack I received had three different varieties), soak in water for a little bit, then toss it on the grill. I found it gave the meat a nice (albeit somewhat light) smoky flavor. Now, if you're thinking this is going to equal a pellet smoker like a Traeger or a Camp Chef, you're going to be disappointed. But as someone who doesn't have room for a propane grill and a pellet grill, I opted for convenience. So this smoke pod leans into that.Honestly, the only complaint that I would levy against these is the cost per pod. With six pods in a pack, you're looking at just over $3 dollars per pod. Well I don't consider that exorbitant, it is quite a bit more than just using wood chips and a smoke box. But as I mentioned before, the entire point of these is that you're buying convenience. So ultimately, I'm pretty happy with the smoke pods. I don't tend to use my propane grill to try and smoke stuff very often. And honestly, these probably won't increase the frequency. But they will let me do what I want most, which is spend more time with my family, and less time fidgeting with my grill when it comes time to cook dinner. So for that reason, these are going to get five stars out of five from me. I'll probably order some more of these when I run out, as once again, the convenience is worth the cost to me.
