Q: why is this product being sold at such an extortionate cost when pet owners cannot afford such inflated prices for their pet who has dietry needs?

You can get this product and the same amount of tins from anime’s or pet drugs online for less than £30

Q: can someone tell me what the fat content is? vet says I need to get something about 1.7%

Hi Susan, my vet advised me to give this food to my little dog, due to her having pancreatitis, she has been on this now for approx. 3 years, the fat content is 0.7%, so well within what your vet has advised you to get. I do mix this with a food for sensitive stomach's, only half as, with this food, you don't need to use a lot of wet dog food, more for taste with the Gastro Intestinal biscuits as there is everything in these your dog would require. I also pour hot water on these to soften them as my little dog is not use to dry food, it works well. I do keep the fat content of everything I buy for my little dog to 0.7% or less. Hope this helps !
