VP5430-F2 is our dept issue. Works for my comtac and Howard electronic with the radio adaptor. Noise cancellation and two way work perfect.

I tested this adapter on a few Kenwood radios including my TK-3180 and NX300. The adapter does pass audio to the K1 accessory, but it does not mute the built-in speaker and microphone on the radio. This means that BOTH the headset and radio microphone are active and pick up audio. The multi-pin interface is also low quality which is likely the reason that the mute functionality is not working. Nice concept, but poor execution on this adapter - go with a higher quality adapter.

This adapter works. You can take a multi-pin radio (Kenwood only, don't try it on Baofengs or others, different screw size as well as other things) and turn it into the traditional two-pin Kenwood. That opens up all sorts of add ons that have been built, largely for the Baofeng market, but that will work just fine on your Kenwood radios.Parts of this thing are really clever. I do like the spring loaded set screw so you don't need a screw driver to take it on & off. However, while clever, it's also very large. Overall, the adapter is quite bulky. It adds a pretty hefty bump to the side of your radios.Functionally, it works well. I tried a remote microphone/speaker and it worked nicely with good quality sound and good signal reports on transmission. However, it made the radio kind of hard to hold on to. Also it impacted the holder I use with the radios, making it far too thick to fit inside.So, works, but hoo boy, beefy.
