Q: My roll seems to snap when bent, do I have a bad batch or is that normal for this filament? Prints seem rather weak too.

Hello! It is normal for the unprinted filament to be this way, Prints should be stronger than the roll itself but I've noticed that the carbon fibre can sometimes weaken some materials. Try increasing your nozzle temp or heating the finished print after to weld the layers together. ASA difficult to get good adhesion with in normal circumstances anyhow.

Q: What is the spool made from?

PETG with CF is PET bottle grate plastic (lookup PET for exact manufacturing) with added Glycol so it melts at a lower temperature they add chopped or ground carbon fibre to stiffen the molten plastic making it easier to print bridges and overhangs

Q: Will this be ok in a voxlab aries fdm 3d printer?

Manu reviews states the hot end may not be good enough but I've printed this filament at 230c without issue, so basically if you can print ABS then yes you can. Maybe check Youtube for others who actually tried before committing.

Lovely 1st print, shame about the colour.

The media could not be loaded. Very nice to print, dried before use. Printed with 0.4nozzle @0.16mm layer height, 80 / 280 deg. And I used adaptive layers, curves came out great.Cons... It's not black, more grey as you can see in the photos.

Rubbish quality

Really low quality, not black at all but a grey/blue colour. Was full of moisture and utterly unusable it required about 24 hours in a filament dryer before I got a decent print from it. The spool was wrapped very loosely and haphazardly. It also had a tangle. One of the lowest quality filaments I have ever received. Literally buy anything else.

More Grey Than Black...+ It Smells!

I bought this as I needed a stronger filament for external use, it printed great, but boy did it kick out a smell, like burning plastic!Windows opened & 16 hours later, my print came out a dark grey/blue, Not Black!

As expected ASA CF

Needs to be printed really slowly no faster then 60 mm/s, I normally print pla and abs at 180-200. It also warps quite bad so needed to pin parts to the bed with clips.

Strong, prints well but not really black

I'm using the CF ASA filament, it prints very well however the color isn't black, it's more of a very dark blue

Clogs the nozzle and isn’t black anymore

This brand of ASA-CF used to be brilliant but they’ve done something to the mix that has ruined it. Now prints grey instead of black and the flow is awful. Filament quality has gone down hill massively. Wouldn’t buy it again after this.

Not like the first batch !! NOT black !!

The first real of this filament was great !! was black in colour and really good to print with and was wound really well on the spool !! but this new real is not black see photos and it is not even wound nicely on the spool !! IEMAI you really need to sort out your quality control !! Will update this review after I make a comparison print !! it is in the dryer as I write this review !!

not great but ok

not sure what it is but not CF ASA, stinks like ASA but prnts 2x wide than set in slicer:1.1 mm line instead of0.6mm line as if it was foaming ASA. it warps even worse than normal ASA too.And no it's not a printer issue it prints sopt on every other filament.
