May 12, 2024 addendum to original post below: About three and a half weeks ago I recommended this Varidesk Standing Mat to a Walgreens pharmacist, Sandra, who is always standing at her desk filling prescriptions and suffers from severe back pain. I urged her several times to get this mat, and she finally gave in. After getting and using the mat, she has thanked me repeatedly saying everything I said about this mat being fantastic and great was true. She even got a second mat to use at home in her kitchen. I originally wrote the review below in November 2023 and I am even more in love with the VariDesk Standing Mat (and my VariDesk Pro Plus 36 desk converter) even more than ever. Original post: This is exactly the perfect balance between firmness and softness I was looking for in a standing desk mat. I have neck stenosis, toes' numbness, and other leg, back, neck, and shoulder medical issues, so I bought a Varidesk Pro 36 standing desk. Then I ordered a Comfylife mat because many said it was great in the comments on the desk. But I returned my Comfylife because for me it was too squishy: my feet kept moving around and it made my legs feel more tired, not less. Over 7 months ago, I received and have been using this slightly more expensive standing mat by Vari and it really was worth the slightly more extra cash for this deluxe mat. In my mind, this is far superior to my previous mat because although it adds comfort to the feet, it is much firmer. I have a rug, not a flat surface, but this mat still works on top of a rug, without feeling unbalanced. I feel really stable. Please note this mat is for standing in front of your standing desk converter/desk only. It is not designed for placing a rolling computer chair on it. You should use a computer chair mat for that instead. This is a perfect standing desk mat for those who stand at a standing desk like the VariDesk Pro Plus 36 or 48. It is so light, that it's easy to move out of the way if you want to place your chair at your standing desk and convert the standing desk to the sitting position. In fact, I just did that today while editing this response. When I initially posted, I stood up and typed my response comfortably while standing on the Vari Standing Desk Mat. Please note I also use gel-filled indoor slippers with medically-prescribed orthotic inserts I placed inside these slippers, plus I wear medically prescribed 20-30mmHg compression stockings that are knee-high. No single device helps those of us with medical issues, but definitely this standing desk mat by Vari is an important piece in my self-care tools, along with my VariDesk Pro Plus 36 (non-electric version) Standing Desk Converter, gell-filled slippers, orthotic inserts, and compression stockings.

I stand at least 4 hours a day at my desk on your typical office floor; the veridesk made a huge difference in comfort. I've only had it a couple of months so can't confirm it's durable, but it has better cushioning and solid material than another mat I tried. I got the 36", which was perfect for a large cubicle. The only down side is difficulty rolling my chair around when sitting. I'm 125 lbs, so lighter users may not have this issue. The mat is beveled, but given its thickness the chair doesn't roll easily over the edge. I've scuffed the heels of a couple of pairs of shoes pushing it back.

I've had this for about a week and I really like it. I have the same issue that someone else mentioned that it seems to leave some kind of residue on the bottom of my shoes and sock. (I like to take my shoes off sometimes and it feels great) The residue is most noticeable when I step on to a smooth surface because my shoes will have a little less grip. I disagree with one reviewer that it's easy to roll your chair onto this mat. At least, my chair doesn't want to roll onto it. I end up just moving it aside when I need to have my chair at the desk. To be honest though, I bought this and the Varidesk and I'm standing at my desk about 90% of the time now so I don't have to set aside my fatigue mat very often. The mat also appears to be good quality and should last quite some time. Update: It's now 5/14/2017 so I've had this for a few years and it looks just as good and is just as useful as when I bought it. It has definitely been a life saver in conjunction with my standing desk the past several years.

This mat is great and makes a huge difference between standing on the floor and standing on the mat. Very comfortable and helps your feet from aching the 'next day'. The issue isn't with the mat itself, its if your'e also using a chair - as your'e supposed to alternate between standing and sitting. What to do with the mat? As its tall and thick enough you don't want to or can't roll your chair onto it. Just a thought, and again, not an issue with the mat itself. The mat is very cushiony but firm - just right.

Sometimes the only thing that gets me through my busy day is using my Varidesk standing work station. The mat is essential when using the desk because of the comfort it provides which allows me to focus on completing my tasks. I highly recommend trying this mat. It does not break down quickly like other mats I have tried in the past. If I could change one thing, I would add a velcro strip to roll up the map when I place it under my desk so my chair does not bump the mat. Happy standing!

I purchased this mat along with the Varidesk corner sit/stand desk and it works well. I often now "stand" at my desk and the Veridesk mat provides a lot of comfort (I often take my shoes off and stand in socks only). It is, however, not meant to roll-over with your chair so when you are ready to sit back down, you will have to move the mat to the side. It is light and easy to handle so I have not found this to be an issue.

Actually I have not opened the box yet, but I have used the varidesk and mat for over a year and actually ordered over 50 for my staff. I reviewed and tried out various different standing desks and mats. Your product was the best by far, it is a piece of cake to set (just take it out of the box and it is ready to go), easy to take up and down (simple up and down, no strength or maneuvering parts around to move it - I take mine up and down several times a day), absolutely the best mat (I tried out about 5 different mats). My husband just had knee replacement and so I bought him the desk and mat. I know he will love it since sitting for long periods of time have caused him various problems.

It is thinner than I imagined, but it is okay. Is it worth $65, no.

Highly Recommended, makes a massive difference if you use a stand up desk most of the day. Good Quality product

Etant DJ depuis de nombreuses années et ceci à mes heures de loisirs, je n'avais jamais pensé à utiliser un tapis de repos ou soulagement. Nous sommes des heures debout et sur place, idem pour les musiciens. Le problème c'est qu'il faut des belles chaussures "mariages, évènements" et tout de même confortable "fatigue". Donc c'est une des solutions !

I really like standing on this, with or without shoes. The 36 model has plenty of room to move around a bit too.
