I have tried Taza Chocolates before. They are the best for dark chocolate lovers. I just was not expecting this to be so overly too bitter for my standards and did not like the taste. I prefer my Dark Chocolate on the bittersweet side, So from most of the reviews, that is what I was expecting. So for those who are not so savvy like myself. This is for those who like their chocolate, ONLY chocolate and I must warn you in it's natural state is bitter. There is barely any sugar in this bar so when they write and describe that this is 95% percent chocolate, they mean it!! there is just 5% percent sugar, and you hardly taste the sweetness. So if you like the straight up bitter of taste of Dark Choclate, then you will thoroughly enjoy Taza's Wicked Dark. I on the other hand did not like the Wicked Dark at all,, but I highly recommend the Taza single origin Bolivian Dark Chocolate which is 87% and heavenly. Not too bitter, not too sweet, with the natural grittiness of chocolate and sugar, To myself, that is what I find enjoyable.

At first I was hesitant to buy this chocolate because of the reviews saying it was gritty. I like to let the chocolate melt, to get the full flavor. I thought the gritty-ness would take away from the experience but it didn’t. It wasn’t that gritty. It wasn’t smooth like other chocolate, but it wasn’t nearly as gritty as other reviewers stated. As for the flavor, it was good, not memorable, but good. If you’re used to 85%+ dark chocolate you will probably be ok with this chocolate. I would give this a try if you like to try dark chocolate. It’s not my favorite but I am glad I tried it.

I'm not sure what I expected, so I made no expectations at all. That is how you need to be when trying this chocolate for the first time, because it is very, very different from processed chocolate lol. It's strong- I sneeze on the first bite every time. It's gritty. I had been eating Lindt 90% up until now and wow, difference in texture. I like it though, I like having texture in food and running my tongue over the grounds as I let it melt in my mouth. The first bar I sat down and, shamefully I admit, I ate the whole thing in one go. I really did. Mistakes were made, and I won't do it again, my body simply will not allow it. I pace myself now. I wake up, guzzle water on my night stand and place a block on my tongue and let it melt. Great wake-me-up alternative to coffee, and faster too.

I bought it, I tried it. I’m Not a chocolate expert. To me, tastes more like a semi sweet bakers chocolate. I’m Sure it’s a quality product, but not for me.
