GOOD FOR JUICE OR WINE IF SWEETENED
I tried munching on a few of these as if they were raisins, and found them to be highly astringent, but otherwise tasteless with almost no sweetness. However, not wanting to have wasted my money, I simmered them for a while in plenty of water, made a slurry of them in my blender, strained the juice out of the pulp, added a cupful of raw cane sugar and some wine yeast which I had obtained from Amazon. The beautiful dark purple-red juice is now happily fermenting in a 1.75 litre glass jug and is already pleasantly fizzy. These desiccated berries are not a pleasant fruit snack, but if you have the time and patience a pleasant dark wine can be made from them which is purportedly quite healthful.

Best quality aronia berries I ever tried
They are a bit larger than other brands of aronia berries I have tried. They are also not as dried out as the other brands. After soaking overnight, the soaking water actually turns dark from the pigment released by the berries and the berries become plump and soften up a bit. Taste is more flavorful than other brands, and the berries actually have a nice scent. The other brands did not have any scent.

Nope
These do not plump when placed in water overnight. They are dry and terrible tasting. I love fresh aronia berries and hoped I would like these. Nope.

At first try,not so great. After adding them to bowl if yogurt? They taste wonderful! 5+! recommend
I had to change my original review of this product from 2 stars to 5 stars. When I first tried them out of the bag,I thought they had almost no taste and was really disappointed because I was considering planting some bishesnin my garden. Later,I tried adding them to a bowl of yogurt. Wow! What a difference! They actually have a wonderful flavor and even texture when they are slightly dehydrated. I have read about the powerful antioxidant quantities they have and now I must report. I love these little berries. Much more than even blueberries. I intend to order some plants and hopefully can grow some in my garden this springtime.

Not very tasty or useful
I bought these as I had run out of fresh Aronia berries from my garden. I love them in my smoothies. However, I realized that you either need to soak them in water for a long time to be able to use them, or you need to just enjoy the grittiness of these berries. Putting them directly into a smoothie, I realize they don't easily plump up or fill with liquid like Aronia berries do. They just ruin smoothies, the taste and grittiness are hard to enjoy. Definitely not worth my money and I wish I had just gotten one bag so I could justify this purchase.

While not quite what I was looking for
These berries do taste incredibly amazing. However I’d like to point out that if you’re here for chokecherries this is not the right one although they share similar properties and a common name.
