Zip firelighters are the best I have used. Easy to light, burn well - one square is enough to light a fire. Buying in bulk like this is the cheapest way and also great to have in stock so you never run out especially with the colder weather now upon us. These will cover my needs all over the Winter months to keep us warm & cosy.

Really good quality firelighters unlike some of the others that do not light properly and then do not burn for a long time. These are really really good and value for money.

I wouldn't normally write a review for something as mundane as a firelighter, but I was impressed by these white,waxy cubes of flame. Having used open fires and stoves for forty years I previously scorned firelighters, chopping all my logs and kindling myself. However, as I'm now an old man (my eyes are tired, I cannot see!) I reserve the use of my sharp little axe for days of good light, and a degree of sobriety in myself. When my kindling bin bares its bottom I have recourse to these, and find them most excellent. They do indeed burn much hotter and longer than standard brand-name alternatives, and are capable of lighting a stack of 50mm sticks, or boiler nuts. Cheap firelighters literally require the whole box to do this. Using half of a strip (75mm) I have had no failures.They also come in an attractively coloured cardboard box, though I feel the cellophane inner is awkward to open, and lets down the packing as a whole.Remember to keep out of reach of children and pets, these really are high energy. My great nephew's chinchilla ate one and spontaneously combusted, wrecking an expensive cage, and nearly their house.
