Best bedding around for chickens - been using it for years. Far more economical in terms of weight to cost and smells divine. Highly recommended.

Very medina all smelling bedding for chickens. Id previously been advised never to use straw for chickens bedding as it can contain mounds, which ultimately kill them, but the alternative is saw dust, which is hard to compost. This bedding is treated to elimate the mould (it does pong of detol, although its not detox) and should compost more easily. Its very expensive, but I have it on top of sawdust so far, and the Chickens like it, and it doesnt seem to get so wet. Ive recommended it to my brother for his hens. The bale is large, so should last a while, and the chickens dont make too much a mess of it. I’m saying its straw, but it may well be hay, as its quite soft.

I tried this product for first time today. I was amazed at how soft and warm to the touch it was. Also a lot lighter in weight. It smells lovely and fresh. Will be using this from now on. Well worth the value.

Beware of product size. I normally purchase the 15kg 100 ltr bag from Mole Valley Farmers which is retailed at around £11. This bag is half the size but a fiver more expensive. But due to the current situation with Corona virus I chose to order this as it is the only option on the net for fast delivery. The fresh bed itself is the best for hen bedding. I have six hens and it last four to five days before I have to change it. When you lay it, it smells very pleasantly fresh and fragrant. It's very well compressed and stays that way throughout the bag. The bag itself is hard wearing. And keeps the load all together. I wouldn't use any other hay for my hens
