Great tool to have in your arsenal!
Works well. My Doberman is constantly shaking his head. I use ear cleaners fairly frequently. I was concerned about ear infections or mites so I bought this tool. With the light and magnification, I was able to get a better view down his ear canal and see that it was not red or inflamed (no infection) or full of dark wax or mites (nothing moving around). His ears were pretty clean but did have some waxy build up. So I have been more diligent in using the ear cleaner and massaging his ears after applying cleaner longer than I previously did (watched a Vet on Youtube) in order to break up deeper down wax. He still shakes his head now and then, but not as much as before. This little tool is well worth the money. I saw what the vet would see and saved the money I would have spent at the vet. If his ears looked infected, I would have gone to the vet for a 2nd opinion and medication. If it saves one vet visit, it more than pays for itself. Plus it is handy to have around if you have children or adults with ear problems. Even though it says "Veterinary" it is the same as the human scope - just the plastic tip is a little longer since dogs have longer ear canals.

Metal Handle, Works Great, Exactly What I Needed
My first search revealed a bunch of cheap and commonly returned scopes. I checked again and this scope popped up. I didn't want an expensive one, but I didn't want a cheap plastic one either. This came with batteries that I can easily replace, light is sufficient, magnifier is great. It's double the thickness of a pen, making it lightweight and easy to use. It has a clip on the side to hang on a pocket. I'm completely satisfied with this well made otoscope.

Easy to use and the dog doesn't seem to mind.
This is a small, light weight device to check your dogs (and kids) ears and nose for foreign objects. Primarily fox tails in the case of the dog. Early detection means early response and treatment means healthier dog (kid too). The light is plenty bright, the magnifying glass is clear and the specula long enough to get past the hair at the beginning of the dog's ear canal. Priced so that you can have separate otoscopes for each dog.

SO MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED!!!
As a vet I often do home visits and these Pocket Veterinary LED Otoscopes are the best for that purpose! I think I even liked them more than professional otoscopes! simple, light, portable and works great! Judging by the very low price of this item anyone would think is not a good quality product, but to my surprise the quality was great! I have even accidentally dropped it a few times and it did no harm to the equipment. I also loved the simple yet fancy slim design and The LED light gives a clearer view of the ear canal than common yellow-light otoscopes, plus the specula fits perfect to dogs ears. Do not hesitate to buy it!

Easy to Use - Clear View
Some reviews I read before buying indicated that the view in the ear canal was difficult to see. I do not find that to be the case. I have used this several times and can see clearly down my guy's entire ear canal without having to get the end too far into his ear. I do need to wear my distance glasses when using to see though; I thought I wouldn't because it's a close distance but without them, the view is blurry. Really like the strength of the light, the lightness of total weight and the balance of the unit as a whole (not top heavy on one end). I take hold of the actual light part (i.e., don't hold by handle) and can access my guy's ears easily. Also appreciate the extra cone piece. It can be a challenge to snap it into place, but then again, once on it stays in place until it is snapped back off. Excellent value.

Works!
This item works well. It can also be used on humans just don't push the cone too deep, once you see the end stop.

Not usable due to too-small specula
Unfortunately, both of the included specula were too large to fit into my 11-lb. Maltese's ear, so I never could see as far as the vet can see with his otoscope, which is why I wanted one in the first place -- to be able to check the eardrum to see if it was intact or had any holes in it. His ears are healthy now, but he does have ongoing come-and-go inflammation (which means irritation in the ears), and a number of years ago he developed an ear infection bad enough in both ears to cause holes in the eardrum. You are never supposed to apply any products to a dog's ear in which there are holes in the eardrum as it can cause permanent hearing loss, so I wanted something to be able to see the eardrums, in case he were to ever get perforations in the eardrums again. Also, I just wanted to be able to see his entire ear canals! So I returned the unit.

Great little otoscope. It works well to see in both my cat and dog’s ears.
