At the last minute, why is it always at the last minute?, my college bound daughter said she needed this hutch for her dorm desk. Of course she did. When I suggested it months ago she had no need of it and rolled her eyes like I was mad (I was mad but not crazy mad like she thought) and told me I don't now what I'm talking about (I went to college and law school but no, of course I cannot possibly know as much as she does). Sorry, I digress. Anyway, so she needed, must have, this at the last minute. I found this one and it seemed to be a close color match (on the computer), correctly sized for the dorm desk, there were two that matched for her and her roommate (everything has to be approved by both girls and match for the most part), and would arrive in time (3 days we were driving up for move-in). Both girls agreed for me to order it. It arrived very fast and was very heavy. That was good because heavy meant at least that it wouldn't fall apart as easily as fiber board would. Plus my daughter is Super Destructogirl. If it says it is indestructible she will prove it wrong. She's fun that way. On Move-in day dad's job was to put the bigger stuff together and she wanted this done first. I will say it took him about an hour. Some of that is because our girl was constantly complaining that it was taking him a long time and all kinds of teenage angst type things. But not once did she offer to help. Sorry, I digressed again. Once he got it put together and was turning it over he dropped it (extremely loud crash and I was surprised people didn't come running thinking the bed fell but I guess it happens on move-in day) but not a scratch to be found. After the child quit rolling her eyes he set it up on the desk and it fit great. There is space on each side of it so she hopefully won't knock it off. It has pads underneath so it is not slippery (she might prove that incorrect). We did not attach it to the wall because, well, we would have to pay for the entire building for putting a hole in the wall. Safety last when it is a dorm don'cha know. It is wonderful because of all the added storage it gives her. It looks great and she has decided to use it, at least until class work dictates otherwise, for display. With many books being online and most work done online things like notebooks and hard books have gone by the wayside. But this hutch is not superfluous by any means. These dorm rooms are built with little to no storage or display shelves. This hutch is able to offer another level above the desk without concern for marring the walls. This hutch in my opinion was very reasonably priced, dare I say inexpensive? In fact I believe it was either on a limited time deal or just discounted for whatever reason but it was certainly an amazing price. As shown in the photos and I've explained above its functionality, sturdiness, and fit should last a few college years (even with my Super Destructogirl as its user).

Prior to purchasing this, my daughter’s desk has always been messy due to the lack of space. However, after I received this, her desk has been looking spotless. The building process was incredibly easy and only took us about 30 minutes. It can hold a ton of items, and is stable and sturdy. It also doesn’t take up too much space on the desk, leaving some room for her laptop and schoolwork. I love the design as it isn’t boring to look at. Getting this has saved her so much time with cleaning and we both love it so much!

Quality piece of wood furniture perfect for college students to store a few extra things. This fit on top of my son's desk perfectly.

I love it! It was very easy to assemble, I took one star off because some of the small pieces were mislabeled and I thought I was missing some, but they were all there, just didn’t match the label in the instruction manual. It looks great and it holds a lot of stuff! Kind of flimsy as you build it but once it’s put together, it’s very sturdy. I don’t think I need to attach it to the wall because it’s stable enough. I needed something to organize my desk and this functions perfectly for that.

Pretty easy to put together for my son’s dorm room. Looks nice and is sturdy. Fit his desk perfectly. All parts were included and we put it together in about 30 minutes. Gives more room on desk to store books and decor.

I LOVE THIS! I use it in my dorm. It fits so much, I have a section for my books, pictures, jewelry box, toiletries, etc. It fits perfectly to my desk as well. I love that I can also put things on top of it. My mirror fits under it as well which is really nice. It was very simple to put together as well! This specific color matches my desk almost perfectly. It isn't a cheap material, definitely worth a purchase!

First off, I am extremely handy. I am building an entire built in office, Murphy bed, hidden bookcase, from scratch. I have assembled dozens of IKEA pieces for my kids. As soon as I opened the hardware bag I was like "what the heck are these things?". In theory they are supposed to work like the IKEA ones we all know, but the plastic in these is extra on the base of the screw, and IT WILL NOT SCREW INTO THE HOLE. Any but of force and the entire wood breaks away of the sides, see photos. You try to jam it into the connection point and it will not provide a tight seal. This hardware and wood piece is utter trash. For $100, this is literally just throwing money in the trash bin because that's exactly where this is going. Don't buy. Burn a $100 bill and save yourself the time and it will be more satisfying. What a waste.

My desk originally didn’t have anything on it which made it look a little bleak. I bought this bookshelf so I could also have more space to place necessary items. So far I have been enjoying the bookshelf. It is quite stable, nice sizing and seems to be quite durable at the moment. It fits my needs and is a solid price for the item.

This desk is Ikea Micke, which is 105x50 cm. The storage unit provides good storage space for books and small items without feeling bulky. Assembly was straightforward and provided extra part. Looks neat and modern once set up. Overall a solid and practical desk organizer.

My husband wrestled with this piece for an hour and was still not able to get the screws to actually stabilize the hutch. Have to be very careful moving it around and using it

This bookshelf works well and looks good too. The shelf can hold a lot of items and it has a lot of compartments. It was easy to assemble and is good quality.
