It’s hard to think of anything positive to say. It’s a textbook for absolute beginners in German, with instructions written in German... Not a word of the book is written in English, and there are nowhere near enough prompts to help one understand what anything means. It seems that many classes use this as their textbook, so perhaps the authors can assume a teacher will be around to help, but if you’re considering buying this for solo study: don’t. It’s almost entirely useless.You might be thinking “Ah, this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I bet it builds it up, just like systems like Rosetta Stone and Duolingo, without needing English translations”. Nope. Here's the instruction for exercise 2, on page 1 of the book: “Hören Sie und sprechen Sie nach. Achten Sie auf die Satzmelodie”. Good luck! 😂
