This is a decent tool for most soldering jobs. The LED ring is a nice feature. One major drawback is the difficulty I have had locating any real selection for tip options. There are only a few available, and nothing for precision work. I needed up buying another unit for this reason.

This is a nice little lighted soldering iron.If you remove the white ring coveringthe LEDs it will make it a bit brighter

The soldering iron works fine (and the lights are helpful) but the soldering tip that came with it is terrible and the replacements aren't any better. The tip I received only lasted for a few hours of soldering before it dulled/melted down and became unusable for any of the finer work I needed it for. In the end I needed a finer tip than what came with it but can't buy any - they just don't make them.My suggestion would be that if you need this for finer electronic soldering to look elsewhere. Shop for the replacement tips first to make sure they have what you need - I found soldering irons with 900M sized replacement tips to be readily available with many different tip sizes.

For the price point, this is a solid little soldering iron. Plug it in and it runs up to full temperature in a few minutes. It comes with a simple metal stand to put the iron on while it's on standby.Only way to control the temp is to move closer or away, and remember that heat rises.Only problem I had was that I wish it came with a couple of different tips or, at least, have in their online description what the codes are for Weller genuine soldering tips. They do have four listed on the back of the packaging, though. I have been using Weller for years. This one is nice have a ring of leds to assistin the are you are soldering. Great idea. Weller quality so you have a nice iron for sure.

Went right from Weller iron package to the repair project. I needed to reheat 5 resistor connections on the clock circuit board. The pencil tip iron was an excellent choice. Plugged the clock into the Corolla wire harness, turning on the car, and the clock now works!
