Does what I hoped it would........and 'Made in England'.....always a bonus!!
I've just returned from the United States, bringing with me a few appliances. In particular, this unit was bought for my juicer...the Waring JE2000. After several 'sessions', I can happily report the Tacima unit works very well....no heat or noise from the unit whatsoever.'Made in England' also implies a certain level of manufacturing quality...the unit is very well made, with a small footprint and a reassuring solid feel / weight to it.I've bought two units so far....money well spent!

Great size and works brilliantly
Works superbly well ! Much smaller than expected and easy to tuck away. A little expensive but worth it as wouldn't be able to use my U.S kitchen aid without it. However the amp inside has blown and now I don't know where to buy one from ?? Any ideas ?

Opened package
The packaging had come apart and the device was visible with packing pellets falling out of the package. Product currently working but I'm a little concerned.

Two Tacima 500KVA US to UK transformer failed under normal use with no warning and no apparet cuase
Do not buy this transformer. I have used it since Late July to power a US Pioneer Plasma TV while in the UK, The TV is rated at 370W and the transformer is rated for 500W. The transformer was working as expected but just died with no warning. Fuses look good but nothing works. I replaced both fuses multiple times with no solution. I tried a second , identical item bought as a spare / for use as needed. It failed under first time use. Same issue - fuses look good but will not work. Plugged both into UK outlets and plugged a 65W HP battery charger into the US outlet as a test. The charger did not work. I checked the transformers with an inductive circuit tester. The wall plug and lead cable both work and indicate electricity floe. The torroid also looks good and indicates electricity flow around its entire circumference. Both US outlets however show no power and the plugs in them show no power. At a loss to explain such poor quality, with one transformer not having been previously unused,

Very pleased. It's quiet and does what I wanted it too.
I bought three Star Wars inflatable Christmas decorations from the US and need a transformer to run them from. Once I had purchased an additional multi plug adapter and connected it all up it worked perfectly. It is heavy though reasonably small. It is very quiet and was well worth the money. I'm not an electrician but it seems to be well made.
