SUPER VALUE PACK - 160 DYE CHIPS FOR CANDLE MAKING SUPPLIES. Our high-quality Candle Dye Chips are easy way to consistently create many different shades for coloring candles. Candle dye chips can be used in paraffin and soy wax. DOSAGE & USAGE INSTRUCTIONThe recommended use is 1 chip per lb. of wax for a medium shade, using less for lighter shades and more for deeper colors Each chip can be broken into smaller pieces is desired. Candle dye chips can be blended with other colors to create additional unique colors. Add dye chips to wax at 185 degrees or higher then stir thoroughly to ensure the dye chip fully disperses in the wax. As with all candle making projects, we always recommend testing to achieve desired resultsThe color can vary with amount of dye and type of wax used. Other factors that can impact color when making candles include wax opacity, use of additives such as stearic acid, and fragrance. Due to the wax consistencies, it is common for paraffin waxes to produce vibrant colors and soy waxes to produce pastel colors.

Great selection of colors
I’m new to using these chips to color my homemade products, til now I was using mica powders. I used the orange first to make an autumn scented candle. I was a bit disappointed because the directions say the recommended amount is 1 whole chip per 1 lb of wax for a medium shade. I made 6 oz of melted wax (mixture of soy and paraffin) and ended up using half of the chip and still only ended up with a very light peach color. I then used the other half chip to color 6 oz of just paraffin wax as the instructions say paraffin results in the most vibrant colors and still didn’t get the deep orange I was hoping for. I think that you just have to play around with different types of wax and amounts. They do work but you may not get the bright color you’re looking for. I’m going to try them on homemade soaps, I think I’ll prefer them for those. The set does come with a great variety of colors which really makes it worthwhile. I may buy them again if I get better results with my next projects.

Five Stars
These are AMAZING colors. Love them.Edit: However I bought a second time, my packages were mislabeled and I threw green chips into wax that was supposed to turn purple. Whole batch ruined. There goes 3lbs of wax!(Re-)Edit: They have AMAZING customer service, and within 12 hours of letting them know what happened, they gave me an amazing resolution. 10/10, would recommend. For those struggling with color, if you are working with Soy Wax, especially quality Soy with additives, except to have lighter colors than you expect. It's NOT these dye chips, it's your wax.

Kinda disappointed
I was soooo excited to use these because a lot of the reviews were good. Idk if I got a crappy batch or not but a lot of my colors were NOT what the bag said they were. Ex lavender was teal. Pink was more like a peachy orange. These did mix well though which is why I’m giving this atleast 2 stars but I was pretty upset and annoyed about the color thing.

Not the best
I'll admit I was a little disappointed with these. I've used color chips before in my candle making before, but the colors turned out a lot more vibrant. These seem a little dull when added, even when using the suggested amount of wax per color brick. In some instances I had to use two, and even those didn't turn out the way I wanted.

Muted colors
Got these for the hubby for making candles. They do work, but the colors aren't very strong. You'd have to use much more than what is recommended in order to get the candles to the desired color. We might try buying dye and making our own chips so that we can get the desired color saturation in our candles.

Chips
I thought it would be better to use than cutting wax , but it was all stuck together and leaked through the box

These worked very well for me. Melted eassily and had no issues with various forms of wax. Some wax will take more chips than others to get a rich color.
