Jane Austen: The Complete Works: Classics Hardcover Boxed Set (Penguin Clothbound Classics)

Saw these being made on Inside the Factory and was blown away !I decided there and then that I had to have a setThe quality of these books is excellent and at half price they were an absolute bargain 🤩

I started collecting Penguin Clothbound Classic books recently and have absolutely no regrets. Fantastic books with absolutely no complaints. I really enjoy the fact that you can get certain authors in collections and I hope Penguin never stop making these books. My only slight gripe is that usually these books come with a ribbon bookmark but my copy of Pride & Prejudice in this did not. I don't know if that's the way it's supposed to be or not but would've been ideal if they all came with these bookmarks. Still a fantastic purchase overall.

Perfect birthday present at a great price.

This is a fine set, bought to replace my wife’s old collection. Some reviewers have complained that “Freindship” is spelt wrongly on the spine. This is of course an error that Austen herself made in this piece of juvenilia.

I am a huge Austen fan and had my eye on my collection for quite a while. I don't regret ordering it - the books are beautiful and a great addition to brighten up a bookshelf. Further, they have a very detailed introduction to each novel which is very interesting to read.The only drawback is I have found in the warmer weather the print on the cover of the book I was reading transferred a little into my skin - perhaps not the best books to be reading outside on a warm day!

I received the hardcover boxed set today. The box is covered in cloth, as are the books. I had read previous reviews that explained that there were sticky labels that marked the books when they were removed. However, I was delighted as when I received my books there was a sticky label on the plastic covering but there were no stickers on the books or the hardcover box so it seems likely that someone has taken note of the reviews. The books are beautiful and if you are a fan of Jane Austen then I would highly recommend them.

This is a great way to buy the novel's of Austin, can work out to be so much more affordable than acquiring them separately, I particularly like the fact that they are protected in the case, which is cloth covered like the books. I was very pleased to receive them still shrink wrapped which made it all the more special to know that no one had viewed these copies before me. Annoyingly though there is a sticky barcode on the back of every book in this set which when peeled off does take some of the design with it as well as leaving a darker patch, where the label has been. This I wish the publishers would address hence the four stars.

Unexpectedly this shipped from Germany (despite not saying so on the listing) via Amazon Prime, so took a few days to arrive. Otherwise great item. Lovely books. Oh, one of them had inky fingerprints on the side of the text block, but that’s a manufacturing error (not Amazon) as they were plastic sealed when I got them.The cover binding on these is absolutely lovely. Anyone would love these on their bookshelf. Well worth it.
