Very useful
I had some stage spotlights with extremely short mains cables attached. These fittings can make a safe connecting extension to any cable. Down side is they are extremely fiddly to fit, with tight cable space inside and tiny little screw fittings. It's not that these are any worse than any others I've fitted but you do need patience and dexterity to fit them safely.

Fiddly to wire up, but it works!
I am making up some leads to go into our mammoth Dell UPS. Using one of these, some flex and a double 13 amp flying socket you can get the exact length you need at a fraction of the cost for the complete lead.It is rather fiddly to wire up, even with 1mm flex, and I had to pre-solder the flex ends to ensure a secure connection. Note - the L/N/E markings are on the OUTSIDE!

Good for extension leads
I used this 3 pin Male kettle plug for an extension lead. It works fine, but the cable grip broke when I tightened the screws, I used another grip of an old 13 amp plug. Other than that it does the job.It arrived well packed and in quick time!

Awful quality - find a better solution
I ordered several of these to extend some A/V equipment leads. The male plugs are so difficult to wire up - they require the bare copper on each feed to be wrapped around a terminal post and the screw is then supposed to be tightened down onto the post to hold the lead in place. This is almost impossible, the terminals pop out of the plug moulding as you are wiring them and the shoulders of the screw and the fixing posts are so small that most of the mare copper is not gripped when you tighten the screw. If I used these I would be worried about wires coming lose inside the plug and shorting or causing a fire.In the end I abandoned them and found a different solution but I would not recommend these to anyone! If the cost had been higher they would be going back but as it is they've gone straight in the bin.Would give zero stars if Amazon allowed it.
