Finally feel safe on upper rungs of ladder!
What an ingenious design! I have been looking for, then trying to imagine my own version of this, for years. I have vaulted ceilings in my house that push the limits of fear and safety for me on my 8-foot ladder. Then I found this. It took me all of 10 minutes to install (scariest part is making sure it is lined up correctly before pushing the side pieces on with that very sticky tape). I had put off cleaning and painting a mildewed ceiling in a bathroom skylight because I just didn't feel safe on the top rungs of the ladder. Just did it today and felt safe the entire time! Something secure to hold onto allows me to get the full height out of my ladder. Only concern is the plastic tabs on the spring-loaded locks. I fear they might be flimsy and break at some time in the future. The rest seems well engineered. Thanks for making this, whoever invented it!

Great Addition to my 8' Ladder
This acts as a stability extension so that an 8ft ladder easily becomes as a 9 ft ladder, or even 10ft. Stretching out this attachment 1 or 2 ft is pretty stable for a hand rail, 3 ft is a bit shaky so don't recommend full-extension. But this makes a big difference as I change bulbs in 12 ft ceiling, and it has a small top tray as well, which is fairly handy. Installation is not difficult and I'm pretty confident I'll not be needing a taller ladder with this accessory. Only suggestion might be to make it a bit wider rails, but then for the price paid, it's a great addition overall, definitely a huge help.

Useful addition to your ladder
This was very easy to install and allowed me to safely reach a smoke detector that was just out of reach with my current ladder's capacity. Adding this made it easy and stable for me to be on the second to the last step and still have something to hang onto while someone held on to the bottom of the ladder for added stability. Great product. After use it slides down out of of the way.

Works fine for me!
I'm only 5'-2" and I need every extra inch I can get out of my 6-foot a-frame ladder. This safety handrail attachment works really well to allow me to safely stand on that top step when I'm working on a project. Watch the videos on the listing and you'll see what I mean. I didn't have any trouble installing it on my Werner a-frame ladder. I installed the 2 brackets on the ladder as described in the easy instructions, added the clips, and then assembled and installed the handrail. Pretty easy. I installed the brackets so that the tops of them were level with the top of the ladder instead of sitting them a bit higher as the instructions showed. I leave the handrail section off the ladder most of the time, and this way I have a flat surface to set stuff on. But when I need the handrail for safety, it's easy to pop it in the brackets. As far as the brackets being secure, I don't know why that other reviewer said the clips broke when he folded his ladder. On my ladder there's 1/4" between the front legs and back legs of the ladder when it's folded, more than enough room for those clips to clear the back legs of the ladder. I figure if I feel like the brackets become loose in the future, I can drill a couple of holes and use bolts to hold those brackets on. Anyway, I like this thing, and I give it a thumbs up!

Great Safety Enhancement
Great product. Installs easily. I have only used it once, but I can say it mademe feel much more secure on the ladder and the tool holder saved some tripsup and down the ladder. Highly recommend this product.

Not a sturdy feel......
I just finished attaching it on my Werner 8Ft aluminum ladder. With the first hand feel and test it does not feel very sturdy... hence 2 stars. The aluminum front clamps are not closing into the groves as much as I like it. There is a play for one more click but it is little short from that one last 'click'. I tried my best to clamp it tight but unsuccessful. The extension feels and looks good but I don't think I will be comfortable leaning on it... feels a bit flimsy and weak. The plastic latch for the extension rod is too flimsy, it won't last even a year .......then what?I would give updated review in a few days but this is just the installation part so that's that! I would not pay $60 for this, not worth your medical bills......

Fitment problems
I was not able to install the product as per the instructions. I had to modify the mounting brackets and method because it do not fit my 300lb rated 6” fiberglass ladder. The problem is that it does not have the width in the back brackets to fit the front rails. I’m comfortable with the mounting modifications I made but I might not have bought it if fitment dimensions were given. Might work with a cheap light weight aluminum or fiberglass ladder. I installed 1/4-20 bolts on the side flange and 8-32 screws through the front brackets and clamps. The construction of the device was very good but no specifications on the ladder rail size it will work with. I expect that a lot of returns will be done with this product.

Step ladder extension
Pretty effective. Not very sturdy, but convenient on 6 ft ladders for that extra step security.
