This 25 ft Dewalt tape is great. I love the finger hold on the bottom when pulling out the tape. It's compact and not to heavy to carry all day. (Without it pulling your pants down)

Really nice tape measure. Very heavy and you can tell it's a DeWalt! My complaint (which cost a star on the review) is the GD packaging. I needed a screwdriver and a box cutter to just try to get into this thing. I mean, I can see the thing, I just can't use it. I don't know who came up with the idea in the board room to make it nearly impossible to get this out of the packaging, but I hope there were relieved of their duty. I can't even imaging a guy on a construction site with a deadline getting his new tape measure in and standing there on a high-rise beam trying to get this thing out of the package. It's utterly ridiculous. It took me about 7 minutes just to get it out of the Fort Knox security package. I had paper and plastic all over my workbench and nearly sliced off my finger twice. And I bought two of these things so I had to do that twice. So WHY do they make it that way? Can't DeWalt just have a nice easy open package? Who's idea was this and can I please have a word with them? Perhaps one day someone will read this and know the person that came up with this idea and forward this on to them so they know the pain they caused. Or even better, maybe Mr. DeWalt will one day stumble upon my review and see my frustration and get the packaging fixed so we as the consumer won't have to have physical therapy or a visit to the emergency room just to measure a lamp.

This is a great value for a dewalt tape measure. You will like the opening at the bottom of the as it has a place to put your finger to hold the tape in place. The tape is strong and allows you to measure long distance without anyone holding the other end of the tape. Recommend

There are two types of these tapes. One the dispenser holds in place, to be retracted by pressing a lever. That is the bad kind. The tape dispenser never holds the tape well. This is the good kind, which is held at a certain point with a thumb button. It has been very reliable.
