- There is no point buying a pencil grip without strengthening the muscles needed for an effective pencil grip. Crayon Rocks® are designed to strengthen the tripod grip muscles for handwriting and are used and recommended by occupational therapists to support children with handwriting difficulties.
- Used in large sweeping strokes a few minutes a day. After regular use of the crayons, the pencil grip and some tripod grip strengthening exercises (which we will send you a link to), your child should feel ready to grip a pencil with more ease.
- We provide the Faber Castell GRIP 2001 pencil as the stepping stone pencil from an assisted grip to stand alone pencil. It features a raised dot zone around the grip to provide increased grip where it is needed and provides sensory stimulation through the finger tips to aid handwriting control.
- The Cross Guard Ultra Pencil Grip Prevents the thumb from wrapping over the top of the pencil. It positions the fingers in the perfect tripod grip, supporting them and preventing them from slipping down the pencil.

Why is the Faber Castell GRIP pencil especially good for children learning to write or with pencil grip problems? Research has shown that using a triangular grip pencil or crayon makes the tripod grip more comfortable and natural for a child as they develop the hand strength and muscle tone required for writing.
