Bought for Garlic Cheese Grits
For years my go-to cheese for making garlic cheese grits was the Kraft brand garlic cheese squeeze tube. I found an old ad for this line of Kraft products and have included it with my review for those of you who are too young to remember these. Years ago Kraft discontinued the garlic flavor and I have since searched for a suitable substitute. In April of 2019 I paid $10.10 for this product here on Amazon. That's quite a bit more than what I used to pay for the discontinued Kraft product but I was nevertheless pleased with the results. This product is unlike the old Kraft version in that it adds a smoke flavor and in regard to cheese grits this could be viewed as a plus or minus depending on the cook and audience. We like the smoke flavor and do not feel it overwhelms the other flavors in the dish if used in moderation. I am including my recipe below.Baked Smoked Garlic Cheese GritsPrep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 40 minutes Total Time: 55 minutesIngredients:4 cups water1 teaspoon salt1 cup quick cooking grits (not instant)1/4 cup butter (cubed)1/4 cup milk1 eggGrated Glacier Ridge Farms Smoked Roasted Garlic Naturally Smoked Cheese (to taste)Instructions:1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and spray a 2-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Pour the water and salt into a medium saucepan and heat until boiling. Whisk in the grits, stirring briskly to keep them from clumping. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes or until the grits are tender and thick. Stir in the butter.2. In a small bowl, whisk the milk and egg together. Stir this into the grits along with the grated cheese to taste. I used about 3/4 of the grated total from the package sold here. Pour the grits into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with some of the remaining cheese (optional to taste). Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until set.The amount of this cheese used in this recipe can be adjusted to taste. I am happy to have found a substitute garlic cheese for this old southern staple and hope you will like it too if also purchasing for this purpose.

No Container
I have bought Glacier Farms Cheese before. They are good and come in a container. This one came in a thin layer of plastic wrap. This is a cheese spread that can melt somewhat in the refridgerator. This plastic wrap is a mess.
