7-Feet by 7-Feet Thermal Blanket 600 micron

Thought I would give this a go to help save energy as our hot tub is getting expensive to run. It was easy to cut to size but not sure if it's helping as we have jets which squirt the water out on top of it even just on the eco mode.

We bought this for our hot tub as we have used one before and they keep heat in and also extend the life of the cover as they stop steam going up into it. BUT THESE SHOULD NOT BE CUT AND FLOATED ON THE WATER SURFACE!! This interferes with the circulation and filtration cycle and is a really bad thing to do. Buy one bigger than the tub, lay it across the top like a tablecloth then put the cover on top to hold it down. This way it insulates and protects the cover without affecting the filtration. Three stars as it is not one piece but has a join down the middle which may be a weak point going forward.

I have a solid hot tub that consumes approximately 14kW per day. It already has a good 4" thick cover. Since electricity is going up I thought I'd chance my arm with this bubble wrap cover. It is very thick and solid - but with scissors and a lot of care, cutting a little bit off each time I managed to get a good fit to the water surface. Much to my surprise this has reduced the daily power input by 3kW - so this will pay for itself in a month.

Folded in a box on delivery so lots of creases in plastic.Worst thing is that the material has been joined in the middle.

Quick thick, easy to place over water. Seems to be saving money but waiting to get the next bill, so will see!

Had this on for about a month, not sure if it does help retain heat much will continue to monitor
