Great All Rounder
So far after 5 months I adore the Q990C and has completely changed my perception of soundbars and what they can do. Decided to give my home theater system a streamlined update after my old plasma TV died (replaced with a Samsung OLED S95C) and wanted a neat setup. As an audiophile, I feel soundbars have come a long way and this one sounds almost as good, and in ways better, as my trusty 5.1 receiver and speakers (Yamaha receiver, Bowers and Wilkins speakers) this has replaced. I have a large open concept living room/kitchen area with vaulted ceilings, and I can confidently say, the Q990C can fill the entire space with immersive sound. It lacks some of the punch, richness, and full body sound that my old 5.1 system had, but improves on it with the surround sound bubble with Dolby Atmos and the latest DTS:X decoding, and a very sleek, clean design. Overall, the Q990C sounds great for movies, TV, and games and has a very clear and crisp sound. The dedicated, powerful center channel definitely helps this soundbar have excellent speech and dialogue performance when watching content, while the 3-way rear surrounds provide a strong (wireless and easily placed) true surround sound immersion. The main bar is crisp and punchy, this side of a Nakamichi Dragon, while maintaining a decently slim profile, though can sound a bit clinical and lacks some warmth. The only place where this system seems to really fall short is with the wireless subwoofer. For the power that the rest of the system puts out, the sub simply doesn’t seem to have enough power and oomph to keep up, making the whole system sound a bit lean for the space I have it in. Had they gone with 2 subs, or simply a larger single sub, this would dramatically improve the sound to my ears and make this a hesitation free recommendation. Music just sounds flat and uninspiring listening to this soundbar, so I will stick to my dedicated amp and 2.1 setup I have for listening to music, granted that I’m comparing a soundbar to a set of massive Bowers and Wilkins 802Ds and an ASW-2500 sub. But for someone looking for 1 simple system to do it all, the Q990C is hard to beat, especially given the price vs a component system (or a Dragon). Do I miss some qualities of my old custom setup? Sure I do, but the packaging of this soundbar, updated codecs, combined with the immersive Atmos sound, I’m do not regret switching. It’s simply a very clean and good sounding solution for anyone looking for full surround immersion in an easy to setup system with seamless connectivity (eARC & Q-Symphony), and overall impressive for its size sound footprint. A definite must buy for a one size fits all solution. Simply fantastic!

It's the way to go
Trust me, this system KICKS! This soundboard is amazing. The quality from the buld and finish, to the sound are all top notch. The clarity is noticeable compared to cheaper units. So is the size of the unit! It's so much bigger than my buddies. It comes with a remote but I have it connected to my tv so I never use it. The sound bar connects to the Samsung smart things app, and you can control it from there. Allowing you to change settings, and connect to different devices like your computer or phone. The functionality of this thing is truly amazing. It's good with music, but not really made for it. If you're looking for extra deep bass from music I'd say this isn't for you. It really comes alive during Dolby atmos movies! That's what it's built for. If you're looking to upgrade your TV's sound system for cheap, this is the way to go.

Love this bar system! Even better when they ship you a 990D vs. the C..... YMMV! :)
I picked this "990C" up at the current all-time low price of $899 on 8.29.2024. To my delighted surprize what showed up at my door was actually the 990D vs. the 990C offered on this product page. YMMV, but this was sold by the seller Beach Camera (delivered by Amazon via FedEx) and it doesn't seem I was alone based on other reviews and forum posts I dug up. So win-win overall, amazing price for a top-tier 2024 Samsung sound bar! Setup with my 65" Sony A8H OLED where I'm running a FireCube through the bar and back to the TV via eARC. Setup went smooth except linking the bar to the Samsung Smarthings app. It would not complete the activation and I was able to fix this by uninstalling the app and reinstalling. After that all has been great! The sound quality and immersiveness is amazing! Even at level 12-15 you hear sound all around you, vocals are crystal clear at any level. Try some Dolby Atmos content on YouTube after setup and you'll be pleasantly surprised! Google the comparison between the C and D and you'll find that the D brings lots of new features and improved tuning, the most significant addition is the 4K 120Hz passthrough ability for gaming.

Awesome Sound
Replaced a Bose system I’d had for many years and wanted to go wireless and couldn’t be happier with the ease of set up and high quality sound.

Sound system
Works well with tv, using the Q-Symphony feature and working well, can say it seems like bass is weaker than older model I had that wasn't one of these but the sound quality and surround sound of this one is way better and surround sound also, easily connected to account and smart things so can easily control with remote or phone now. Is good bit larger than older system I had especially surround speakers and speaker in front of tv but bass speaker is smaller, but would recommend it since works really well and is a good price when its on sale for sure compared to online at Samsung store

Excellent home theatre unit, Wifi works very well - not audiophile gear!
We bought this system for a second home and paired it with a very large Samsung TV. The integration between the two was easy and excellent. The built-in Samsung "smart tv" software is fine, but not great. The sound for theatre usage is excellent: loud and clear, with the sub-woofer doing its thing as expected. It's really for theatre usage. It works great with Spotify and other audio sources, but it's NOT audiophile gear. For music, it's overly bright and the soundbar drivers don't really offer much airiness on vocals, acoustic strings and the like. That being said, it's a great theatre system, easily installed and an excellent value.

I bought this to pair with my Samsung TV for the Q Symphony technology. This thing is heavy. It feels like a solid piece of equipment. My TV speakers were great, I didn’t need this but I said what the heck, why not. Glad I did. There is something about bass that is just a game changer. It works great with my PS5 and Xbox. Putting this together is simple. You literally plug it all in and the second I turned on my tv, I didn’t even have touch a thing it just all connected and started pumping out the sound. Very happy with the purchase

Shoutout to Top Choice Electronics, the vendor, legit! I'm coming from a 2.1 Samsung bar with woofer that I thought sounded ok - miles ahead of TV speakers. And I had no idea I could get this kind of sound out of a soundbar setup.... it's theater quality To get the full experience, you do need to make sure everything is connected properly. My TV doesn't have eARC for example, so I can't connect to the TV if I want Atmos. I have a PC connected with a RTX3060. HDMI from GPU to the bar, then bar to the HDMI ARC port (though at this point I don't think that bit matters). Downloaded the Dolby app for Windows, it detected my setup. Ran a few tests from the app and it's working as it should out of the box. The speakers all auto connected, so I didn't have to fiddle around with that which was nice. Downloaded Samsung SmartThings app and everything was controlled from my phone virtually instantly. I've played some 7.1 Atmos files and it's working incredibly well. Netflix and Amazon Prime app are working in surround sound off the PC. So do other apps. YouTube and Spotify however are not, though YouTube should (?)... Still working on that one. But overall a huge win for Samsung! Last note and I knew this coming into it, my ceiling is vaulted and sloped, so I'm not getting the best Atmos experience at this time. But still worth every penny! A flat ceiling is recommended for the Atmos firing speakers to bounce the sound off the ceiling and in your direction. People saying the bass isn't thumpy enough, I'm honestly not sure what they're trying to get out of a movie. The overall crispness of the sound is complemented perfectly by the bass in my opinion. At 30% volume, it's loud! I turned it up to 80% and I was yelling at someone 4ft away from me - and the sound at 80% was just as crisp as 10%.
