DCD796P1-GB XR Brushless Compact Lithium-Ion Combi Drill, 18 V, Yellow/Black

I decided to replace my aging mains powered hammer drill and chose this drill after looking at many brands and numerous reviews. I Ordered it last week and delivery was earlier than the expected due date. Don't be put off by the picture, you get the drill, a 5ah battery, battery charger and sturdy case in this order. A steal at the price. The drill is excellent with a little top heavy weight which helps keep the pressure where it's needed. It's very comfortable and not very at all heavy. The action is smooth and powerful. Despite some reviewers concerns about the chuck I found it works well with no wobble. It feels like two stages to grip the bit as there sounds like a click when gripping the bit tight then further ratchet like turns and the bit is secure. It's very easy to use and would recommend to a novice DIYer or professional. I can't comment about the battery life as I only received it this week but I expect it to be as good in quality as the drill itself.

Bought this drill for lots of reasons, first it has 70NM of Torque thats like Audi/BMW/Mercedes Torques, you need torques if you are going to use this in the Garden with an Auger Drill Bit, that is digging holes for plants or looking for buried treasure with a 600mm Long Drill Bit. Secondly, it has a 3 point 13mm Keyless Chuck that deals most drill bits including Hex Shaped. It has a 48mm Grey Collar so you can put an extra side handle on the drill to keep it steady, you will need a little wooden mallot to tap the side handle onto the drill collar for persuasion, the side handle is sold separately. Battery come three quarters charged, so ready to use and is a 5.0Ah Li-ion a lot more powerful than other 18V cordless drills as it lasts longer. Great Price and Value for Money.

Best tool ever. Don’t have any problem for now . Doing job very well

The Drill is versatile, and easy to hold and use. It has pretty good torque for such a relatively small device. Only minor points were that the battery is to my mind loose in as much as it can be moved about like a loose tooth, but remains in place. The other thing I noted was that the break on trigger release especially on position 2 sounds a little like gears on a car when the synchromesh doesn't work properly sometimes, but I am told this is normal. The case is pretty good as well. Other than that, it performs well, looks nice and I would buy one again.

Bought this when there was a deal on it - can't complain as it's a solid bit of kit. Definitely the best drill I have ever bought quick charge and very powerful. The charging light on the base is great as it obviously indicates how much juice you have left. Torch function is good, and you can change power settings in easily enough. Charge lasts for ages I managed to get 6 flatpack builds out of it and it still has charge on it had it for 3 months now and very happy.

I’ve been using this DeWalt DCD796P1 18 V brushless combi drill on a bunch of jobs around the house and it’s been really impressive. It’s compact and lightweight, so it’s easy to work in tight spots without getting tired, yet feels solid and reliable in hand. The brushless motor gives plenty of power for drilling into wood, metal, and even light masonry, and the adjustable torque control makes screwdriving much more precise. The two‑speed gearbox and bright LED work light are nice touches that make it more versatile day‑to‑day. It’s supplied with a decent 5 Ah battery that keeps it running for a long time between charges. All in all, it’s a great balance of portability and performance for both DIY and more serious jobs.

Great high-quality combi drill for a great price. Seems to handle everything I threw at it, from woodwork, and metal to drilling on concrete with the Hammer function. The 5 A.H. battery really lasts for ages.

This machine only comes with ONE battery and not two as shown on the picture.
