8Pc Heavy-Duty Tarp Clips with Carabiner - Sliding-Lock Grip - Quilt Hangers

In typical amazon style, we are asked multiple times to write a review for something we barley received and in many cases have not had the time to use.In this case, I applied the clips but the quality depends on how they stand up to UV rays. These are not the soft plastic of PVC but the harder plastic of a knob and part experience tells me the hard plastics break down faster in the elements. It’s just a guess, how much exposure could I have to UV rays in a week?Installing these on the tarp is an issue. First, you slide the tarp between the two prongs then lock them in place with another piece of plastic that slides down. Because the piece that slides is in the same space as the prongs, you cannot get the tarp in as deep between the prongs as you may want. Good news for me, the tarp has a hem so it should be fine. On a drop cloth or smooth fabric without a hem, these might work just fine but I suspect the plastic is too stiff for a good grip.

Just purchased these to clamp onto my motorcycle jacket. My vented summer jacket is very lightweight and won't stay down around my waist while at cruising highway speeds. So, I connected a pair of these tied together and clamped it to the bottom of my jacket, and the other clamp to my jeans' pocket. Do this on both sides and the jacket stays put no matter how fast I'm riding. Simple and works great. Quality is what you'd expect (cheap), so don't figure they will last long. I guess it will depend on how much abuse they get, which isn't much if any.

Grip well, easy to install, carabiner makes for flexible use, but the "unlocking" slide mechanism pinched my fingers when trying to adjust the grip on thin, flexible material in tight places. This probably wouldn't be a problem when working in the open.

I haven't used them yet, but they look like they will work just fine for my tarp

Photo shows a small metal clip on each clip which is why we picked this one. Only 2 of the 6 came with the metal clip?!

These tarp clips are exactly what I needed. In addition, they were shipped quickly and arrived in good order. These are well made, strong, and worked perfectly to hold my car cover tarp in place even during recent high winds during a heavy rain storm. Excellent product and very easy to use.

I like the concept but these are not strong enough. I tried to use them to hold down a tarp over my boat with bungee cords. With the first slight wind they slipped right off. The problem is the claw part does not hold the tarp very well. The cleats are aiming in opposite direction from one another so you can't get any grip on the tarp, even tightened all the way. Part of the problem is lack of clamping strength and part is poor design.

We weren't sure exactly what we needed when we saw you project. It looked like it would do what we needed but you never know. Now we know...and they're just perfect!!
