This is a very pleasant CD of Christmas music. I have always loved the string section of an orchestra. To me, the strings give some songs an ethereal quality. Well, Jackie Gleason loved strings also. This CD of Christmas music is mostly driven by the string section. All of the songs are nice and slow. There are no fast songs on it at all. Obviously Mr. Gleason was trying to instill a soft, easy, laid-back, and mellow mood for the Christmas holidays. I think he succeeded.I was a little boy in the 1960's. I remember sitting in front of the television and watching his variety show. I loved the physical comedy, as that is funny to a little boy. When I look at the front and rear cover of the CD, and see his smiling face and dapper appearance, it takes me to those happy memories. He truly was, "The Great One."When I listen to this CD, it transports me back to those days as a little boy. At Christmas time my Mom would take me to various department stores and five & tens. I find myself remembering sitting on Santa's lap, looking at the Christmas decorations, and having lunch with her in one of those stores. Isn't it great when a picture of a person, or the sound of some music, can elicit some pleasant memories? I'm glad Jackie Gleason's entertainment was a part of my childhood, and I'm glad he made this Christmas album.

My mother had Jackie Gleason's album "Ti's the Season" when I was young and she always played it during the holidays. I played her album until it started skipping. That's when I started looking for a CD with the same songs on it. Jackie and his orchestra made wonderful music along with his singers. There are no words sung on these songs. Just background emphasis. The music is great for background music while you decorate your home and tree, having a party, or making goodies. I play it everyday the whole season thru. It also gives me that extra connection to my mother.

Jackie Gleason was far more than a comic and actor, he was a marvelous musician, arranger and band leader. This is one of several of JG and his Orchestra's recordings that have been re-released on CDs and are of interest to those who appreciate the lush sounds of the big band and orchestra era of the 40's and early 50's!

Few people know what a gem this collection really is. I grew up listening to this music, and perhaps that why I am fond of it but it truly is a great CD. Beautiful Christmas instrumentals that set the mood during the holidays. For those who remember Jackie Gleason as a Honeymooner, you will really appreciate this lovely collection of familiar holiday music.

What a hidden gem this Jackie Gleason album is! Being the Baby Boomer that I am, I love the nostalgic flashbacks to a simpler era whenever I hear his theme music, and have purchased every album of his I can. A masterful orchestra leader and such beautiful Christmas music! After all these years...thankfully still available for purchase. I played it over and over and over this holiday season. How Sweet It Is!

I was quite pleased w/ these Instrumental renditions of some well known Christmas songs. They are nice & relaxing to listen to, in short, I hit the jack pot when I purchased this Jackie Gleason holiday album, in December 2013.This Christmas album CD is definitely recommended, for holiday music collectors, such as I.

Good music, but I guess I didn't read enough. The fact that it was Christmas music surprised me. Well worth the small investment though. I will enjoy it during the holidays
