A Game of Malice and Greed

Good start to a series which leaves room for potential
Rapunzel meets Aladdin in this fantasy fairytale story retelling with a twist. I read the prequel first which was amazing and beautifully written so I had high expectations for AGOMAG however I didn’t feel it was as good. The story was so long which could of been condensed into 400 pages instead of 600! Their was a lot of receptiveness in the banter between Drake & Krya and about their feelings and emotions.MC are Cassius who is a royal guard - man made of steel I really liked his character and how loyal and honourable he is.Drake - who is a thief man of sin, he reminded me of Ryder off Rapunzel who loves himself a little too much which was annoying at times.Kyra - the blessing (aka genie) she was really sweet I liked her. I liked that she had limitations to her power and I highly recommend reading the prequel first to understand a bit more about Kyra background.Austyn - the princess who reminds me of princess Jasmine / rapunzel which her long silver hair and trapped within the castle. I felt she was a likeable character strong fierce and independent who only wants the best for her kingdom.Overall it was an enjoyable read with good world building and very well written my only main gripe is information overload which wasn’t needed. Zodiac Academy is still my firm favourite series by the sisters but I’m still excited to read the next installment to this series to see what becomes of all the MC’s as it does end of on a cliff hanger!!Favourite quote “ I was a boy born in to nothing and I grew into a man dressed in sin, little goddess. There’s only one thing you can ever rely on from me when words pass my lips. And that’s lies”

Epic fantasy adventure
An Aladdin retelling, with a dash of Rapunzel vibes, while also playing on the legend of Ali Baba and the 40 thieves, A Game of Malice and Greed is an epic adventure and a captivating start to the Sisters’ new fantasy series.Welcome to Osaria, land of the Fallen Fae and forgotten magic, a bustling city shrouded in mystery, where monstrous creatures lurk throughout the miles of surrounding dessert, and a gang known as “the 40” run the streets. One of the 40’s most notorious is Drake- thief, master manipulator and heartbreaker all rolled into one, whose good looks are his most precious commodity and his swagger and charm will have you falling fast.Within the heart of the city, a princess is locked away in a tower by her stepmother, the evil empress who torments the princess night and day. While she’s a fierce warrior with bravery to spare, princess Austyn is helpless against the dark magical forces that are conspiring against her and her father, the emperor. The princess is protected by a loyal and steadfast guard, who longs for something he can never have, despite the connection that is so clearly present between these two. Due to a series of ill-fated moments for both, royal guard Cassius finds himself crossing paths with Drake the thief, forming an unlikely alliance.Meanwhile, deep within the desert, a magical coin is hidden among a cursed treasure. Within coin lies Kyra, once Fae but now bound to grant the wishes of whatever her master desires. These four characters embark on a magical journey that will alter their lives and all of Osaria.AGOMAG is mysterious and twisty, with action and suspense, while also sprinkled with the Sisters’ signature humor. It’s got the intricate and detailed world building you would expect from a fantasy read, with a complex plot that I look forward to unraveling. Throw in a mysterious prophecy, a villain you want to throat punch, and a cadre of layered characters, and you’ve got the framework for a literary home run for first book in this intriguing new series. The romance is a slow burn, so don’t expect very much spice in this book, but do settle in for tension, banter, and a whole lot of feels. The romance is MF, and it’s looking like there will be multiple romance storylines similar to Zodiac Academy.Overall, I really loved this new fantasy series from Caroline and Susanne. The world building is top notch, the characters unique and memorable, and the plot intriguing and complex. Not surprising from these authors, this book does end on a cliffhanger, and it’s making me desperate to get my hands on book two!

Epic Dark Aladdin/Rapunzel Retelling
“Heroes weren’t something to aspire to where I came from. Only villains prospered among the dirt and dregs of the lower Fae, and I was the most villainous of them all.”✨ Dark Retelling of Aladdin/ Rapunzel✨ Adult High Fantasy✨ Fae/ Gods & Goddesses✨ Slow Burn✨ Multiple POVs✨ Female Villain✨ Morally Gray MMC✨ Typical Twisted Sisters Cliffy✨ Thiccc BookThe only thing Princess Austyn wants is to be free. Free from the confines of her room, her veil, and her wicked stepmother. She is the lone heir of her father’s kingdom but won’t truly get to rule due to ancient laws that only a male can rule. A pageant of only the richest suitors to win her unwanted hand and become the next emperor is scheduled as part of her 21st birthday celebrations.Drake is a “street rat” and member of the infamous band of thieves called “The Forty.” After a chance encounter with Cassius, a member of the Royal Guard, they seek out treasure that can change both of their lives.Kyra has been cursed and bonded to a golden coin for a thousand years. She is known as The Blessing and is forced to follow every will of the owner of the coin.—————————————————The Twisted Sisters aka Caroline and Susanne are masters at building these amazing new worlds in their books and The Kingdom of Osaria is no different! In typical TS fashion, this new series has multiple povs, magical world building, fantastic character development, heart-stopping cliffhanger, a villain you absolutely hate, memorable minor characters (ahem Washer-like character), and laugh out loud moments. If you’ve read the Zodiac Academy books, Drake reminds me of an arrogant yet lovable Seth/Leon mix! A Kingdom of Gods and Ruin is the prequel and tells Kyra’s background story. Highly suggest this novella be read first! AGOMAG is a thiccc baby at over 900 digital pages. The sisters sure love their big books! There is also some amazing character artwork in the books for the different POVs!✨🗡️🖤

Aladdin wasn't my thing, but the sisters offering a dark retelling, yes please 😁
After being stuck and enjoying RH books and getting over the turbulent times of Zodiac Academy, an m/f from the sisters was a clear winner.Never watched Aladdin, don't think I've ever watched it fully. But when the sisters offer up a retelling I'm always going to say yes. When I started this book I thought maybe it would be a fight for Princess Austyn's love but so far there isn't a hint of that. But never say never with the sisters.Drake is like a Robin Hood, and although his background should push that he shouldn't care about others, fortunately morals and feelings always push their way to the top.Cassius is guard and wants what he shouldn't and maybe can't have. Hopefully things work in his favour. Fortune favours the brave... But then again will the sisters let him 🤔I'm sort of hoping that Lionel (ykiyk) remains the best evil character the sisters ever wrote but there is still time 😅

Picture is to dark
I love the story, it’s the physical copy that I have an issue. Amazon replaced my first copy but the second copy came with dark pictures. The story line good the authors did an amazing job.
