Replacement power supply adaptor for the 12V PURE Evoke-1 DAB Radio

The power adapter for my Pure Evoke 1 (bought early 2003 and still going strong) completely disintegrated - bare wires, etc - because of the strain its weight put on the prongs. I chose this replacement based on the description and reviews, and it really is excellent. The new adapter is smaller, lighter and constructed more as a unit. It's far less likely to fall apart because of the previous weight problems, and also fits better into a wall socket. If you have one of the old Pure Evoke 1 adapters, I would recommend investing in one of these now, especially if you are an avid radio listener and wouldn't like to be without your radio while you wait for a part to arrive. Despatch by the company was prompt, the product was well packaged, and is relatively small so came in the normal letter post (good, because we've had nothing but trouble from couriers). The previous adapter finally gave up the ghost on Sunday, and here I am listening to the World At One on my beloved kitchen radio on Friday lunchtime - that's really good service.

Bought to replace plug on a very old Evoke 1 model as original no longer worked. This works fine, but the lead on one received was so short I had to adapt position of the radio to use it. Not even a metre in length beware, seems they vary!

Avoid had 2 of these items and both have failed and broken within 3 months of purchase but out of the 90 day warranty so cant return or get my money back. unable to contact seller

The replacement has to be the correct specification to ensure correct supply to the pure evoke 3 and/or charging the chargepak (if you have one). This products description was correct and it worked perfectly with my evoke 3 radio. My pure power supply that came with the radio had failed after 4 years and after reading other reviewers comment that the pure power supply ran hot (and mine had too before it failed) wheras other makes of power supply did not I chose not to buy a pure power supply and chose this one instead. It was the right decision, it did not run hot, and it was also the least in terms of cost at the time of ordering. Delivery was prompt.

This was a very good replacement for the original. I used it for my Evoke radio.

I was given an old pure evoke three by a friend of mine, as it no longer picks up most of the DAB channels (it’s not DAB+). It was far too good to waste as it will still pick up most of the BBC channels and a few others so I thought I might as well pick up a cheaper power supply. It works perfectly fine and is keeping an old(er) radio that sounds brilliant, and looks brilliant, going for a bit longer.

Perfect for what I needed to replace the original power adaptor.
