This brush only works for a full frame sensor.

Q: Will this work for Sony a7ii?

I believe the A7ii has a full frame sensor, so it should.

Q: Will this work for smaller sensors like on the Nikon D500?

I have used it on my SONY a550, and it worked fine. I don't see any difference between these two cameras cleaning-wise.
