Does not work 100% with deep cycle battery used as a slave, works well with standard type battery

I used this to replace the Battery in a Cadillac XT5. Just connect the alligator clips to a charged 12v battery, plug it into the OCBII connector and turn it on. It keeps battery memory functions intact while you remove and replace the vehicle battery. When finished, remove it. Start the car, and everything , including the clock, works as before, and no codes!.
