Italix 'Parson's Essential' OBLIQUE ITALIC for the left handed, Fountain Pen

The best fountain pen I've ever owned. I say that as the owner of many fountain pens including left handed ones. None, however, write as well as this Italic pen does. It writes beautifully and the ink flows freely from the nib. The pen itself is very well balanced and well made. I am delighted with this pen and will be buying another pen from this company. The first one that I ordered was delivered within 24 hours. I heartily recommend the Italic fountain pen range.

I've just replaced my previous one of these - it's worked very hard, and lost some of its shine. Great turnaround from Mr Pen - expecting it middle of next week, but it arrived today, having only been ordered yesterday!I'd been looking for a new fountain pen, as my previous left-handed nibbed pen was giving up the ghost. I bought this partly because it sounded heavy (which I like), and a previous review seemed positive. It is a relatively wide-nibbed pen, which took some getting used to, but I love it! It feels robust and writes smoothly for me as a left-hander.

There are two left-handed writing types: the "crooked" where the writer holds their hand above the pen and those that write with the paper at an angle of about 30-40 degrees. I write in the latter fashion, and regrettable have found the angle of the italicised nib to be virtually useless! The nib scratches heavily into the paper, and doesn't allow a reasonable flow to, what I consider to be a variety of excellent handwriting styles - including italics! The pen itself is a good weight and has excellent balance, but I'm sorry the angle of the nib certainly doesn't lend itself to my lefthandedness!

The slant on a left hand nib should be the other way round. Works fine when used by a right handed person, but scratches for a leftie.
