We have been having a major issue with limescale at our home the last year. I hated watching out appliances and fixtures be destroyed, and so I started looking into water softener systems to try and correct the issue. Way over priced. I paid way too much and listened to the marketing. There are equivalent items for under $50 that work just as well and are just as powerful. Remember, it is just a large permanent magnet like you would have on your HIFI speakers.It appears to work well, but only really effective for low to moderate concentrations of Lime or Calcium.

Well it's not good. I built a new house and installed a standard 3-stage filter, and there was no lime in the kitchen and bathrooms. I bought this magnet to maintain this level... I bought two of this product from the same company, Amfa 4000 - Amfa 5000, which is 20,000 gauss, and I installed both. In the pipes, each magnet was 4 meters away from the other, but after 2 months, terrific limescale began to appear everywhere. New high-quality pipes, expensive filters, and even magnetizing the water did not help in preventing limescale buildup

Seems to be working. Installed it 2 weeks ago and we notice a difference already. Soap seems to lather up more and the water is softer. Our water hardness before installing this was 11. Will check it again at a later time to see if there is a difference.
