Great Hot Plate/Portable Burner
I have used it on a very regular basis for about 4.5 months and really like it so far. It provides great power and consistent heat making cooking very easy. It heats up very fast and I'm able to adjust the temperature appropriately as needed. It's lightweight, but feels sturdy even with a large or heavy pan on top of it. I like the modern, clean look as well.My only complaint about it is the temperature controls and really that isn't a big deal. I'm not a seasoned cook so I always have to look up what temperature things need to cook at to adjust the control because it uses wattage instead of traditional "low", "medium" "high" temperature settings. I just keep a picture handy of what temperatures correlate to the wattage to make it easier for me, but is worth pointing out in case someone may have trouble understanding this. It's very easy and intuitive to adjust the temperature once you are comfortable with what wattage to use.Overall, I highly recommend this burner. I'll be honest with you, I was nervous to buy a brand that's not more mainstream/sold in big box stores, but I'm glad I took the chance on this as this is really a great burner.

This Is A Great Product That I Highly Recommend!
I originally thought I wanted a convection hot plate but research revealed those require a particular type of pan, so I looked into the infrared hot plates instead. The Cusimax heats extremely quickly and is so much more efficient than my gas stove. In fact, I didn't realize how inefficient my stove is. It heats the handle of one of my best frying pans until it cannot be handled without a glove. The Cusimax, because it comes in direct contact with the pan, delivers even heat where it's needed. I am getting a much better sear on meats which is great. Because the Cusimax heats differently (more efficiently), I am incurring a new learning curve about cooking times. Everything cooks more quickly which is great, but I am having to re-figure out how long to cook meats and things since they are cooking more quickly.I have been using the Cusimax a few weeks now, and the only downside has been that the "ON" and "OFF" markers wore off almost immediately, so it is now longer obvious when the switch is in the "OFF" position. In the attached photo, it is in the "OFF" position, but it is not easy to discern. There is a light that indicates when the heating elements are powered up, but that will turn itself on and off automatically to regulate the heat. I will probably have to create a sticker to make it clear when the device is turned off. Instead of using paint that wears off, maybe create an embossed dial. This is otherwise a great product that delivers a much better cook than my gas stove!

Heats up FAST with a Sleek Modern Look
I cannot believe how this heats up to the highest level in seconds. I cooked 5 hot dogs in minutes...thoroughly! I bought the infrared. I just got it yesterday, used it today for the 1st time, so I don't know about withstanding the test of time. So easy to use.and easy to clean. It's pretty lightweight, so I don't expect it to take much wear and tearLots of plastic. I have a beautiful cook top range, with 5 burners and two of the burners switch to two different sizes each. It looks especially nice when it's clean and shiny. I got tired of cleaning the whole top when I used only one panSo I saw this appliance and thought, why not try this and use it for those "one pan" times, so that all I have to clean is one little burner. OMG what a great idea. It's very modern and sleek looking too, so it looks good sitting right out on top of my existing range. I'm going to try to use it every day for about 2 weeks and see if I think it will last. If I like it we'll enough, I may buy the 2 burner one. Today I love it and am very happy with my purchase. I am Very Glad I opted for the infrared one. I think that might be why it's so fast and even to heat up. Great buy. Price if definitely right. Very fast delivery..less than 24 hrs.

Worked well for about 1.5 years
I liked this hotplate a lot, the first year and half i had it. Then it stopped putting out much heat at all (although still heated up a little), making it unusable for anything (even heating tea).My guess is the temperature sensor, which prevents overheating, began to fail. Probably a 50¢ part failed, taking down the whole burner. If they had used the $1 version, the hotplate might have lasted longer. Maybe one day i'll take it apart, to see if it can be fixed (and will use the $1 version!)That said, this seems to be a common failure for hotplates this size (based on reviews), irregardless of brand. All IR burners i've seen, from portable burners like this, to full-sized stovetop IR burners, seem to operate the same way: Full on, then they begin to cycle, on and off, to maintain a given temperature setting. Ovens and microwaves operate the same way. As the temperature sensor fails, it'll either cutoff too soon (i.e. failing to maintain heat, as in my case), or not at all (i.e. causing the unit to overheat). So if it's going to fail, the former is preferred.Beyond that, though, i liked the styling of the unit, it worked well for a while, and it didn't smell when i first started using it (as some brands do). If it had lasted longer, i'd give it five stars. These little burners are never going to perform as well as a full-sized stovetop, but this burner did a good job of frying eggs, and making tea, which was mostly what i asked of it. In fact, it excelled at these tasks, because of the fine degree of low temperature settings available, which is often difficult to dial in on a stovetop burner, and are generally geared for higher heat output (as they have more Amps to work with). I found myself using it more than my stovetop, which it sat right next to, in the kitchen.
