Great beginners flute
For a starter student flute its not bad. The tone is a little off in my opinion. But nothing super noticeable as a novice. It is a great starter flute for beginners and the price cant be beat. The pads were good and everything played perfect out of the box. It has a nice case and I loved the cleaning accessories it came with. The color is a nice polished silver that doesn't seem to tarnish easily. Overall, great flute for a beginner. Even better for marching band so you arent damaging your expensive flute.

Bought as a backup
Needed a backup flute for when my kid "forgets" to bring home her instrument to practice. Nicely made and beautiful look. It will make flute sounds but my daughter said it's harder to play the top notes compared to her Yamaha. At the price point, it's still a great bargain for someone wanting to try, a backup instrument, or the nostalgic adult remembering marching band days from high school. Just buy the flute....it'll impress the heck out of you spouse that you still can play Heard it Through the Grapevine. Lol

Made in China
Daughter started playing in October. It’s the beginning of December and her music teacher told her it needs to be adjusted because it’s wrong. No music store around will touch it because it’s made in China and they said the parts are hard to get and the metal is too soft. Very disappointed. Spend the extra money and get a nicer one.

When my fourteen year old granddaughter chose her options this year she chose music as one of them and flute as the instrument she wishes to learn so after a lot of looking and comparing reviews I brought her this one for her recent birthday and she is over the moon with it. I am impressed by the quality of both the flute and it's protective case as well as the included cleaning kit and gloves. The case is very well padded to protect your flute and it has the ability for a small padlock to be added for extra security, it has strongly stitched handles and a shoulder strap. The flute was simple to put together and the included instruction sheet was very helpful for showing my granddaughter where to place her hands and how to make a sound from her flute, it also showed the finger positions for each note that she will learn. Although my house sounded like a snake charmers on her birthday the sound quality was good and not "tinny" and certainly not annoying or aggravating. My granddaughter is small for her age but could still comfortably hold the flute and didn't need to stretch her fingers too much to play it. This is a very well priced flute that is of a high quality and perfect for both absolute beginners or more advanced players, highly recommended.
