A box of 50 colours
....well...♦ 46 ♦...to be precise...along with 'Black', 'White', 'Silver' & 'Gold'!They arrived impeccably packed for transit in 4 days, in my case, the order being fulfilled by Amazon.Despite the years rolling by, and recent trials of coloured pencils in all shapes and sizes, I still love these from Crayola®.Back in the old days I found them to be the most popular choice with budding artists who had moved well beyond the 'red, blue, green, yellow' stage and really appreciated the extended selection of shades of colour offered by this box, akin to the array of sweetie jars in ye olde sweet shoppe and often spoilt for choice! From the back of the colourful box, which measures around 18.5 cm x 17.5 cm x 1.5 cm (American spelling):♦ 'Crayola is dedicated to ensuring kids use every bit of their creative potential. That's why our Colored Pencils are long-lasting and come in a variety of brilliant colours. Crayola Colored Pencils unleash the power of kids' imaginations!'The colours I received are as follows and are, I believe, those which are usually supplied in the regular cardboard box of 50 (as listed on the back of the box):* RASPBERRY* MAROON* RED* RED ORANGE* ORANGE* LIGHT ORANGE* YELLOW ORANGE* MANGO* GOLDEN YELLOW* YELLOW* LEMON YELLOW* LIME GREEN* YELLOW GREEN* JADE GREEN* GREEN* PINE GREEN* TEAL* GREEN BLUE* AQUA GREEN* TURQUOISE* SKY BLUE* CERULEAN* LIGHT BLUE* BLUE* NAVY BLUE* VIOLET (PURPLE)* ORCHID* MAUVE* PALE ROSE* PINK* MAGENTA* BUBBLEGUM* SALMON* PEACH* LIGHT BROWN* MAHOGANY* BROWN* DARK BROWN* TAUPE* SAND* TAN* HARVEST GOLD* BRONZE YELLOW* GOLD* SILVER* GRAY* COOL GRAY* SLATE* BLACK* WHITEHaving said that, there is the usual disclaimer in small print on the box: * 'Contents and colors may vary'.Each pencil measures around 17.5 cm and comes ready to use. With gold embossment including the full name of the colour the rounded barrels are self-coloured so it is easy to grab the one you want without further ado - although, having said that, the cardboard box doesn't last long with young, impatient hands, so I transfer mine to a sturdy tub for such events.Considering the relative thickness of the leads they sharpen to a reasonable point (but not lethal) easily with a quality manual sharpener, when required, and a single layer of colour is strong, especially on the darker colours, due to their relative softness.Arguably, they do wear down quicker than other brands, which are more expensive, but at about 16 pence a pencil, (at the time of writing), I still find them great value for money. I have not had any problem with the leads breaking, either in the sharpening process or under fair pressure when applying colour, in this current set, which I have been using on & off for a couple of months to test their durability.ooOooOther detail from the box:'Eco-EvolutionHere are some ways Crayola is conserving energy and making the products you love more environmentally friendly.♦ A new tree is planted for every one used to make our colored pencils.♦ Solar panels provide energy to produce one billion crayons and half a billion markers each year in the U.S.A.♦ Using recycled plastic in our products keeps hundreds of tons of plastic out of landfills each year.♦ Made in Brazil.♦ Nontoxic'ooOooI have a new box, hidden away, just in case the box of 50 disappears from all retail outlets again, because these have been VERY hard to find!Other sizes of box available, including the short-length 64 selection , with even more shades for a day of colouring in .

Childhood nostalgia is justifiable but the quality is lacking. .
A good introduction to coloured pencils for those just getting started with colored pencils as a more adult art medium instead of just for colouring books. It doesn’t hurt that everybody knows that familiar Crayola name from their childhood so there's a certain amount of nostalgia mixed in upon purchasing. The pencils have decent colours, but some of the colours within this pack don’t actually appear to be their advertised colour from the labels when used and can be extremely brittle to sharpen with multiple broken leads immediately out of the box which soured my experience.

Okay not great
Okay pencils, do the job but are rather hard and found that I had to press quite hard to get any decent turnout. Not ideal for small children who would struggle to hold and press down so hard on such a thin pencil.

Received these pencils in perfect condition, no damage to box or pencils and gold and silver included. Pencils all perfect, sharpened a few and they were fine. Great selection of colours. Happy customer, excellent for the price.

Lovely pencils - not just for children
I bought these for myself - a 48 year old crafter - as I love Crayola pencils as they are soft and blend well. I find these do last well and have taught my children not to let pencils drop off the table when using them so the leads don't split. This set has a good selection of colours, not just the usual "bright" set. I use the white pencil for marking fabric when I'm quilting. You can fit all 50 pencils easily into the Really Useful box (21cmx10cm) for easy storage at home too.

Great colours easy to sharpen and don’t break easily
Colours are great bright colours easy to shade. Need sharpening ballot as they are quite soft but tip doesn’t snap easily and sharpens well
