Q: how do I thread the rope? The instructions are so vague?

Attach each piece of rope to each bar first, tie a knot to stop it pulling out at each end, so each bar can hang from the rope. Next use the very thin piece of wire provided (if you still have it!) to thread the 'looped rope' through the pulley rollers in the bars attached to the ceiling, go through the side away from your wall attachment first, then through the side closest to your wall attachment, then through each one of the little white plastic toggles used to clip in the wall attachment to raise & lower the bars. Be systematic & take your time, it's worth it - I love these driers! mark on the rope where you want your white toggles to be. One to set the height of the bar when pulled up & one lower to set the height when you are hanging your washing, make sure the toggles are the right way around & tie a knot each time to secure them. You might need a pin to widen the hole a bit to get the rope through. Hope this makes it a little less confusing. Good Luck!!
