A simple and cheap method of replacing valve caps. They do not turn the valve spindle just provide a neat finish. I rarely adjust my rad valves and do it with a small spanner so these caps just pop on and off when needed. Inside the cap is, what looks like, a tap washer and the top of the rad spindle just pops through the central hole. Easy done.

The rubber washer supplied has a circular hole but the radiator valve spindle is oblong shaped. If you soak the washer in very hot water for 5 minutes it becomes softer & you can then force it on to the spindle, usually first time. Once the washer is in place the cap can be pushed down over it & fits well.

The central black washer that is supposed to fit over the valve stub is described as "universal fit" that will slip over the valve. In fact the hole in the washer is too small to slip over the valve stub and the material it is made from is a hard plastic that has no "give", so will have to be drilled-out to fit. I wanted to return these items, but the company wants to charge for return postage, which is nearly half the amount I paid. If you look at the small print further down the ad it actually says that the holes are too small and need to be "cut into a rectangular shape". If that's the case, why are they described as "universal fit"? Waste of money. DO NOT BUY THESE unless you are able and prepared to use a drill or a small chisel to modify them after receipt.

The valve caps look ok but have to be made to fit the valve stem.The inner washer that grips the valve stem is hard plastic and will not fit on the stem easily.I found the best way for me was to drill out the plastic washer to a slightly larger hole for it to fit snugly over the valve stem.Not too difficult for me but if the customer is not handy or doesn’t have a drill etc then its not easy to do.I think the simple answer is to make the washer out of rubber and it will more easily expand and fit over the valve stem without having to alter it.The description says “Universal Fit “ it is not.

A must when baby proofing my home

I purchased 3, 2 worked fine. Reported it to the seller. Who was very helpful refunded me the price of one immediately.

It's says universal but thay arnt wouldn't go over our valve hubby had to to drill to make the hole bigger so no I wouldnt recommend

Did the job. Had to push them on fairly hard to fit but other than that excellent.
