AA Gaming at its finest, just what I needed!
Exactly what a AA game should be. Doesn't necessarily do anything new, but goes with the concept of "hey, we've figured out how to make good games like this for years, lets make one with this character in it!". It captures the satire and ultra-violence of Robocop well. While taking place between 2 and 3, it feels more like 1 in tone. While I say it does nothing new, it does combine ideas really well. The system for the gore works really well and is over-the-top (I did use 'more gore' as soon as I got a PCB that offered it, and never played with it off - kind of like an 'unrated' mode if you use the movie as a comparison). It shows lots of love for the movie, even sticking in a lot of trivia about its director, Paul Verhoven, disguised as discussions about other fictional directors, but stories lifted from his career.Choices matter more than they do in most games that say choices matter to the story, and I really appreciated that. You affect politics, and how certain characters turn out, as well as your own reputation as well. You can be an OCP hater or their total puppet. The environments have good destructible parts making the FPS segments more fun. Everything environmental looks really good, and there's lots of wet streets and glass using raytracing (I played on Series X).The character models and lip syncing are definitely where the AA shows through, feeling a bit Xbox360 at times, but that didn't keep me from enjoying it a bit. The dialogue is good as well. You also get Peter Weller as the voice and face, so legitimate Robocop - probably half the budget there haha.I'm happy to pay full price and have a physical copy of this, and while I wish it would have a sequel, it sounds like the dev wants to work on another, unnamed so far, movie project next. I'll likely check it out as long as I like the movie!I played with the latest updates as of May 2024 (the update was the size of the game, so I assume the version on the disc is buggy). I understand New Game+ was added later as part of an update, and I'm thinking about going through that now, as the best upgrades take a while to get. There were twice I remember needing to load a checkpoint due to a bug. I'd done everything needed for a door to open but it didn't open. I think I ran ahead of another character a bit too fast or something on one of them (not that it should cause a bug). Both times, reloading and playing 5-15 minutes over again (which was still fun) corrected the problem. Not bad for AA at all.It also keeps all your saves. While you can't manual save, it stores checkpoint and chapter saves, rather than overwriting the same checkpoint save. So if you do run into a bug, you can go back incrementally through every time it saved, in case you hit a checkpoint after a bug happened. I only hit 2 'game breaking' ones though, and they were minor. It does always take a while to realize it is a bug though and that you aren't doing something wrong haha.If you like Robocop and its satire and violence, you should play this for sure. One of the best times I've had so far this year, more than AAA games. Not as polished, but more fun!

"RoboCop: Rogue City – A Nostalgic Blast of Justice and Action"
RoboCop: Rogue City delivers a satisfying and nostalgic experience for fans of the iconic franchise, blending classic '80s sci-fi action with modern first-person shooter mechanics. Developed by Teyon, the game successfully captures the gritty atmosphere of Old Detroit, complete with its crime-ridden streets and dystopian feel.Players step into the heavy boots of RoboCop, equipped with his iconic Auto-9 pistol and a suite of combat enhancements. The gameplay is straightforward but rewarding, featuring intense gunfights, destructible environments, and a sense of power that makes you feel like the unstoppable law enforcement machine. The game also incorporates investigative elements and dialogue choices, adding some variety to the action-heavy pacing. While the visuals and voice acting (including Peter Weller reprising his role) shine, the game does have minor technical hiccups and repetitive missions that can slightly hinder the experience. Nonetheless, RoboCop: Rogue City is a love letter to the character and his fans, offering a robust and enjoyable mix of nostalgia and action-packed gameplay. A must-play for RoboCop enthusiasts and a solid FPS for those craving old-school fun.

80's nostalgia
Awesome game if you're a fan of the character. The fact that Peter Weller is voicing the character makes the game better. Must buy, i recommend.

Good game
Enjoyed this one. Gameplay is average but it does feel you are playing as Robocop and they did a good job of capturing the feel of the movies.
