I love this type of engraving so had to get this when I saw it. For someone who is not artistic, like me, it is a great way to do something creative and not feel like you have completely messed up! It would be great for children or adults. It can be tricky enough to complete some of the designs without scratching off some of the foil, so good for concentration and to pass a bit of time!I will definitely collect the others in the series.

Brilliant keeping me entertained really well, love how the book is presented and love the facts that come with it! Definitely worth the money.

these books are really good for killing time - on long flights especially - and the tag line really works - from age 8 - 80... love it!

These look amazing, they are Christmas presents for my nephews but they look good and arrive in good time so just hope they like them :)

This is a book of engraving art pictures. No experience or talent necessary! I'm 54 and find these very relaxing and satisfying. I have NO drawing talent. This makes me feel creative and like I've really done something pretty. I first tried one of the smaller kits found in craft stores for a buck or two. After that, I was hooked. As I probably won't be hanging my artwork, I like doing it in this book. I may even give it to my Grandson when he is a little older (3 now). It takes a little practice to get the scraping technique down. But, I find myself hooked on it for hours! I plan to get the other books in this series, too. I've already done 2 pictures in this book this week.The book also contains information about the animals in the pictures. So, it's educational as well.I would recommend this for children who are artistic from about age 10 and up. Or, for adults who WISHED they could draw, paint, etc. of any age.

Something was wrong with the paper you try to etch with the tools and the paper would scratch beyond the foil or not at at, simply leave indents. It was maddening because the images were lovely. Made me sad

Having purchased other engraving art products that were single pages at the local craft store for my son, I was excited to find this book. I liked the idea of portability and the variety of pictures. However, these are MUCH more difficult to scratch off than the other single pages I have purchased. He (and I) scratched through the foil to the back quite often because they required much more pressure. The paper is a different texture, but we thought maybe it was the tool, so we grabbed some of our others. Unfortunately, the result was the same- difficult to scratch off. The good thing is the variety (some rainbow, some silver, some bronze) and the very nice pictures, but I would not purchase this (or any similar books) again since the results are not nearly as nice and they frustrate my child.
